God bless Chris for his tribute to Bona and the significant part they played in his life. He had picture perfect form on his trey and the results reflected that. A true trey specialist.
His heartfelt comments about Bona are the greatest I have seen from a former player in a very long time.
I am sure recruits are shown this coming from a shooting coach for the pros.

Melian Martinez (@melianmartinez2
) has committed to St. Bonaventure. The 6-10 Dominican native is a long, lengthy rim protector with good defensive timing who should be an intriguing project for the staff.

He averaged 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks at NFEI last season

This kid is a natural rim protector who blocks shots with both hands. Double O only used his right requiring body positioning. Can't wait to hear what his wing span really is.

Second summer session starts on June 28th I believe. First has just ended. Hoping we can get everybody there for the second session. While the rating services or whoever makes these predictions on who has the best recruiting class may not rank us all that high, who cares. We, IMO have got a great group, shooters, guys who can create their own shots, quick defenders in the backcourt, guys like JNT who can play sg/sf, guys like Yann Farell, a very gifted defender, with a blossoming offensive game, we can play man, zone, we've got some big bodies, we can play a very long, athletic line up in the front court, mix and match. We already know what kind of worker Barry Evans is, two guys were adding were the best newcomers in their respective conferences, we're going to find out what Brett, JNT and Mellouk can do. I would love to be around this summer, hoping some folks can get over to campus and take a look. Anquan Hill and Melian Martinez, at 6'9" and 6'10"res[ectively, although I believe Malien is taller tha 6'10" would be a great tandem at the back of a full court press or to be utilized in a 1-3-1. All three of our "centers" all bring something a little bit different which is a big plus, I've already lauded Melian as a shot blocker and Max Amadasun has got a little of that in him as well, Max runs the floor exceptionally well. Chad Venning gives us a real inside presence, down low on offense and will make if tough for teams to push us around. It likely will take this group some time to mesh. I see a lot of guys getting minutes, which I know is counter to Coach's teams in the past, but at the end of games and over the course of a long season, we'll have more guys with fresh legs.

There still may be calls to get another shooter, my take on that is that it will be difficult to get anybody in here good enough that would have a limited role and further, that person would be taking time away from some of our young players development. So I'm inclined to stay at 12.
