Well, not surprising…. I had seen that we had offered 6’10” C Amadou Doumbia, maybe ten days ago. At the time I couldn’t find out much about. Amadou, other than he played with a U 18 Real Madrid team, via nba next gen
Well, I happened to be looking at Putnam. Science’s been open gym, where they list what players will be available on a given day. Two things I noticed, just looking at a couple of names Melki Connor, a point guard who I like a lot, Ben Ahmed a ‘25 big with an incredible amount of talent, sorry Melki is ‘24, and then of course there he was Amadou. I dudn’t see Que Duncan, a really good 6’5” guard who we have offered, but I only saw players for two days.
Clearly Coach Espinoza and co. are loaded yet again with talent.

Went to RC Saturday afternoon, watched AMDY scrimmage with team. SBUNFURLED posted a quote from JOE BUDZELEK about AMDY comparing him to AKOK AKOK which after Saturday I think is pretty spot on. AMDY is a very good ball handler and runs the court extremely well. One sequence, he got the defensive rebound, did a nice behind the back dribble to get separation on BARRY and flew done the court for a jam. Length makes him a good defender and was very good at falling off his man to double team the ball handler without getting burned(SCHMIDT must have loved seeing that). Was only 1-4 from beyond the arc but instinctively goes to the basket often without the ball and was rewarded often with nice feeds for easy layups. Still growing and should fill out more, got bounced around going up against CHAD & NOEL. AMDY would be an excellent get if the staff can work some magic, I’m sure the bigs will be on AMDY soon.

Nice touch for a big visit. What is super cool is that AMDY has this very picture posted on his very own Twitter page!

A recruit visiting Bona, who is going to Putnam certainly has my interest. When recruiting Putnam players, Bona has a secret weapon named Dana Valentine. Information on 6’9” 205 pound Amdy Ndiaye. — Has a 4-star rating by ESPN. 247 Sports lists him as the 6th ranked player from New York. — Played at Long Island Lutheran. Max Preps #3 ranked school in the nation. ESPN #5 ranked school. — Averaged 8.6 ppg at Long Island Lutheran. — Named a standout by multiple recruiting analysts at both the La Porte Invitational and Hoop Hall Classic in January. — For this upcoming season transferred to Putnam. — From Senegal. Started playing basketball just 6 years ago. Following is a recruiting profile from Rutgers. Amdy visited Rutgers 3 months ago. A long, athletic big man, Ndiaye runs the floor well and plays with a high motor. He is a willing rebounder who attacks the glass and he can defend multiple positions. Offensively, he would need time to develop his shot consistently outside of near the rim on second chance scoring chances and dump off passes. He’s also just over 200 pounds, so Ndiaye needs to add a lot of weight and muscle to hold up against frontcourt players in the Big Ten. At 6’9″, he’s also a bit undersized to play the 5 at the high major level. Not a reason to dismiss Ndiaye, but something to evaluate in his long term viability. thescarletfaithful.com/amdy-ndiaye-visits-rutgers-basketball-center-senegal/#google_vignettewww.espn.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/news/_/id/254915/amdy-ndiayerecruitthebronx.com/index.php/prospects/get_prospects_details/18351

He sounds like a nice get, especially someone who allegedly can shoot. Hopefully Kaba is more of a Farrell than an Evans.

Just a few notes. The kid is a shooter with 3 ball range. Couple of evaluators say he belongs in top 150 Evaluations. Has strong small forward moves and then some. Needs 20 pounds or so, but that gives us another weapon at the 3 and in the right circumstances can bring offense to the 2.
