I thought that Shoon accomplished that in our last game at Duquesne. 21 points, 17 rebounds, 6 blocks. Y ou want him to pick up his game?? That game is in the books/history. We will need that type of effort moving forward on a consistent basis. Don’t you agree? Osun had a great game. But fact remains, 7 of his 9 buckets were dunks, almost all put-backs. That will never happen again. He still has to do more to create and make a shot--with Kyle subpar and Dom slumping badly. Need points....trey shooting horrid and if opponent gets hot we are dead...

SBU has obviously done very well against Mason during their time in A10 play, BUT Kim English is not Dave Paulsen. It is way too early to be calling Kim English a better coach than Paulsen. English 9-7 record is only 2 games over 500, while Paulsen finished last year 4 games over 500 with a 13-9 record. I was surprised with George Mason firing Dave Paulsen. After taking over a team with a 9-22 record, Paulsen led George Mason to 5 winning seasons out of 7. Paulsen was fired after leading George Mason to a conference record of 8-6, which was tied for 4th in the A-10. www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/george-mason/www.warrennolan.com/basketball/2021/conference/Atlantic-10You're likely right. Definitely way too early to gauge English, but I do see why Mason fired Paulsen. In six years at GMU, he never even came close to sniffing the NIT let alone the NCAAs. His teams were the definition of mediocre as they never once had less than 14 losses in a season. He also never made it past the quarters in the A10s, which is obviously not a good look. Maybe Mason's ceiling is less than the admin think, but I don't think it's unreasonable for a school to expect to make either the NCAAs/NIT once in six seasons.

Osun is a great player for the Bonnies, but I was expecting as a senior he would be a better offensive player in the low post. Extreme majority of Osun's point are dunks or put backs. My hope was with Schmidt's coaching, Osun's low post offense would develop like Andrew's, or at least like Youssou. I believe Osun would benefit coming back to have another year of development under Schmidt.

With Kyle scoring being down we will need others to pick up the slack. It is time for Osun to pick up his game. I know GM is physical but we can’t have our center passing the ball from the top of the key. Our players are very sharp. I am sure they'll have no problem learning new offensive schemes in the next 20 hours.

Osun is a dunk guy and I can live with that. He needs to be fed where he does not need to dribble. Nicholson had a go to baseline seal when he would be fed down low for a go to bucket yet I've never seen Osun fed that play. Would love a quick move to hoop from Osun...he tends to be very methodical and slow when trying to get into his moves defenses seem to push him off his mark easily.

I think that Duquesne couldn't have played a better game than they did. We beat them on their new home court with a crowd that for Duquesne was quite respectable. Downplaying the Bonnies performance isn't fair to the team. As I said before Shoon's presence was the most dominating that I have seen seen since Lanier vs.Seton Hall.

Wait a minute. Did this team beat Boise State, Clemson and Marquette before Covid shut them down? I think this team has endured a lot. Let the A10 schedule play out.

I don’t think people will realize Shoon’s true value until he graduates. There will be a huge void in the paint. He shouldn’t have to be relied on for offense. It’s not his strong suit. He should use the same recipe for success he had vs Duquesne. Attack the glass and you will be rewarded with easy buckets.

Another void that will occur after OSUN leaves is there goes any length the BONNIES have. Sure they will have 6-8 guys but after the Dayton game, they will need more than that.

Should be a fascinating post matchup, Shoon vs improved Oduro.

I don't think another year of development under Schmidt (and, especially, his coaches) is going to be the answer. And I hate to say this, but another year under a set of coaches at a P6 school would probably be most likely advantageous for him. If these coaches haven't taught him more than he knows now, he won't learn much more in one more year...

Between social media and this message board, Bona fans have been insufferable this season. Shoon just played the best game of his career, and all you guys want to do is critique his offensive repertoire.
It’s funny that you guys don’t think Shoon has developed or improved much. Maybe you’re only paying attention to one side of the ball. Defensively, he’s the best big man the A10 has seen since Marcus Camby. I’m sick of you guys focusing on what a player can’t do, instead of appreciating what they can do.

Thanks for the link dadster, reading the article makes it clear that English was destined to be a Head Coach somewhere. I think he’ll be successful in the A10, although I hope not too successful (starting tonight). A little failure tonight will help build character, right? And bonaballa, I agree. Anything other than a shutout will never be good enough to satisfy many here.
