hoopman, are you Jesse's brother? Look, I think Crowley got too much credit but you are off your rocker if you think Jesse's a better coach. And stop with the Covid crap. You sound like our loser governor. Jesse is a flat-out terrible coach which includes his inability to recruit div. 1 caliber players. I'd been going to games since MJ was coach so I've seen my share of bad teams but Jesse was the last straw. If big Joe cares anything about the program he needs to replace Jesse.

Where did I say Jesse was better than Crowley? I’m just saying look at the records starting out. I agree the program may need an overhaul but let’s not make it seem like the womens program has a storied program.

They beat Michigan State and Penn State while Crowley was there. They were drawing somewhere around 1000/game. It was better………..way better

Another exhibit infinity why Jesse has to go -- a 69-38 whacking at Duquesne. It was 20-5 Dukes after 1, 36-11 at the break, thanks for coming, drive safely on your way home.
This stinker doesn't deserve a game thread. I think these kids have tuned out Jesse -- if not quit altogether.
If they lose out, they would amass 29 defeats. Imagine that. They're good for at least 25 at their current pace. They play at Davidson Saturday (0-2 league) and a 3-12 Dayton club Wednesday. They lose both, that's 10 in a row and Lord knows how many more afterwards.
The fault of where this sorry program is rests not only with Fleming -- it's also on TK who signed this guy to an extension that was not warranted.
Seven years of hell. It has to end the moment the Bonnies are one and done'd in the A10s.
Blow the whole thing up.

I didn't realize they still had a program. Go ahead and call me sexist/misogynistic but outside of the top teams, it really is unwatchable basketball. The WNBA would have folded long ago (or never existed), if it wasn't heavily subsidized by the NBA.
Do the athletes learn valuable life lessons, represent the university in a positive manner, and inspire young girls..absolutely. Are these programs a drain on budgets...absolutely.
Let the free market dictate if there is a market. If the program(s) can't stand on their own, then perhaps they shouldn't exist (Title IX has been force fed to everyone). The same sentiment rings true for men's programs too. As football and eventually basketball separate from the NCAA construct, the non-revenue producing programs will be relegated to DIII or intramural status.

I'm not sure we'd have more than one or two teams if you held our programs to that level. Most college athletic programs like ours don't make money.

All universities support these programs, despite taking a loss on the balance sheet. Yes, it does attract potential students and raise awareness of the university...I get all of that. However, unlike a start-up company, these programs will never turn a profit, whereas a startup at least has a chance after several years. The athletes are skilled at their trade, and for the most part, I'm not criticizing their ability; although some of the programs are unwatchable. Money funding these programs could be better served elsewhere. Alumni also wouldn't be hit up for continued donations every time a capital project is started. I keep waiting for the university to be renamed to recognize the same benefactors that seemingly fund every project.

Today's episode of "Jesse, You Suck" featured 27 turnovers and another example of his preparation acumen (if you can call it that), as Davidson raced to a 23-4 lead and never looked back in a 73-39 laugher.
I swear, Fleming must pick numbers out of a hat blindly to select his starters. Today's quintet was 3/12 from the floor and tallied 9 pts and 17 turnovers (8 by Laccen).
Lops came off the bench today for 11 pts, and she and Ware (13 pts) split 12 boards.
The Bonnies have devolved into the 39ers, bc that's about all they can muster offensively. In January, their 4-game average is a mind-blowing 41.3 ppg.
Beyond hapless. It's pitiful.

THANK GOD!
Happened 3 years too late, but thank goodness Joe Manhertz saw what we've seen for too long. The last two losses marked the end of the line for Jesse after Lord knows how many poor games prior to that.
Very good time to make the change so Bona can have a successor and staff ready to take the reins when peak recruitment season commences.

Some of the comments regarding jessie Flemming are disgustingly mean. Whether he is a good coach or not, does not negate the fact that everyone, especially at St. Bonaventure, should be treated with dignity and respect. The trash talking is reprehensible. Get real

Whether it be a coach , or player, how they are performing, good or bad, should always be treated with dignity and respect.

Hearing the “transformational” McKenna Maycock and Sara Pfeiffer (If we can lure her from D2) are in the mix.
