Coach Cal leaving Kentucky for Arkansas. That one is a shocker. I suspect Nate Oats will now leave Alabama for Kentucky and the carousel of sleazy coaches rolls on Nice move to get off the hot seat. Good also for Kentucky, don't have to worry about the severence.

Since the Coach Schmidt discussion is locked, let me state this. I think Coach turned the page (or flushed the loo) and moved on. "No rear view mirror " moving forward - in Schmidt I trust.

"turned the page"? He never opened the book. Schmidt gave no accountability for the NIT debacle and has not addressed it or said anything. This is simply shameful and his silence tells you all you need to know. His credibility is shot going forward! He's a lame duck and our program will suffer for it!

I just don't understand how his supporters give the guy a free pass in this situation. I know I refer to him as the two million dollar coach but I guarantee if he were coaching your kid in high school you'd be demanding he say something or the school take "appropriate" action. It's a joke. His silence is deafening.

There is a tremendous body of work that shows that coach has “earned” the respect, trust, leeway etc… Stop being so short-sighted. We get the concept of what have you done for me lately but again SBU is a far more respected program today because of coach and future, while always uncertain can use the past to support it moving forward .

Some kind of standards you go by. LOL!!! Glad I don't know you or associate with you.

Kentucky now Trying to hire BYUs coach. Times have really changed, they used to get the best coach on the market always I agree. Yes Pope played at Kentucky. And based on his coaching record, he seems like a good coach. But not a world beater. Unless he is really tied in to the AAU circuit, and unless Kentucky has an NIL War Chest (which they probably do) I don't see this as a long term answer for Kentucky.

I have my doubts on whether people in Kentucky will ever accept and support a Pope.

Kentucky and Louisville both in a downturn. This is a strange era of college basketball
