The regular season is now concluded. These are the attendance numbers for the A-10. Keep in mind that these may not be the final NCAA reported numbers as some members may host post season games which are factored into the official NCAA numbers.
The Bonnies, with an average attendance of 4,076, ranked 6th in the A-10. This has been the position it has typically ranked for most of the last decade.

And a wny ,CNY or Northeastern team would still have been a better draw, better for recruiting and better for media coverage, and alumni interest.

I think there are things that can be done to get us even higher though. I think the game day experience can be enhanced. The concourses and concessions are the same now as they were 20 years ago, little things could make it more of an event |

Attendance for SBU is based on how the schedule falls. Games over the weekend with students in session will always draw well unless it's awful weather. Weekday attendance for games over break are usually not huge draws OOC regardless of opponent. Regarding recruiting. Are you speaking in terms of the athletes or students? We played three WNY OOC, one CNY and one from Albany. Not sure who else you'd want on that schedule. |

Cornell,Colgate Syracuse,Albany,Vermont northeastern Hofstra … a few possibilities. Think longwood is not actually a draw but a deterrent.

That game on a Saturday draws 4K+. Also not wise to compete with MNF regardless of who's playing in that game. Princeton, Colgate and UVM would be great adds to the schedule. Not sure Cornell, Albany or Hofstra move the needle more than Longwood. |

People dont care if its Longwood or Colgate or Cuba-Rushford High. They come because the Bonnies are playing.
yeah sure "Duke" would fill the place, but that's a whole new level. Nobody gives a rat's behind about Colgate or Vermont or Albany they are at the same level as Longwood

This will be a huge hire for the school if it intends to return to the top of the league. I would have thought Ford had built up more staying power there so that he would have been able to withstand one really poor year, but maybe his salary was too high for any patience. If whoever they hire is seen as a step down (as in an “up-and-coming” young coach who has yet to establish himself in the upper echelon of coaches) the Program could be in for at least several lean years. With the UMass move, this is turning out to be an off season of huge changes for the A10. I wonder if the school will look to move quick to get someone in place to get started on recruiting or will take time to see who becomes available after the NCAAs end.
