Anyone know how our scrimmage with Kent St went?? 2 of the top 6 players didn't play and they blasted them. Any other questions Brett? Blasted??? Not an accurate statement. Bonnies were missing two starters. Kent was missing one starter. The first session was a tie. The second session was close until Bonnies scored the final 14 pts.

Must’ve had my phone during the games responding to idiots like you lol🤣. Also would love to see you say something to his face tough guy… wouldn’t end well for u brotha You'd like for somebody to relay the Bonaventure - Kent St. scrimmage results to his face? Very odd behavior. I'm sure he could find them online much easier.

I received 2 first hand accounts. Both stated Bona built a large lead in the 1st half. With starters resting, Kent State rapidly caught up hitting 6 of 7 three pointers to end the half. Bona dominated the 2nd half. Bona was missing 2 very important starters with Yann 8.9 ppg and Mika 9.1 ppg. 6'5" Voncameron Davis was a part time starter last season (starting 15 of 34 games) and averaged 6.7 ppg. It doesn't matter how you slice it. Bonnies had a very impressive scrimmage against a quality opponent, who is picked 2nd in their conference. www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/kent-state/men/2023.html

Chuck...I agree that there is a "Wide range of opinions about Brett's Freshman season at Bona."
Many said he is not a TREY shooter. That's mostly speculation because what we know is he just didn't take them. Essentially he showed INCREDIBLE speed & used it to beat defenders off the dribble, attack the rim taking only 2 TREYS all season (made 1 of 2). This season as a Jasper I believe he will demonstrate that he is a TREY threat. I look forward to seeing him in Draddy Gym. His 15 points on 58% shooting at Hawk Hill this past weekend had him as team's high scorer.
BRETT's greatest deficit was his TOs every 4.7 mins. As he played more he got better caring for the ball.
In conference play BRETT converted on 42% of his shots, better than BANKS (34%), LUC 32%), EVANs (41%),and HILL (35%).
In conference games he played only 8.5 mpg collecting an assist every 7.8 mins compared to PG LUC making an assist every 7.7 mins. And Luc was #5 in the A10 with assists. In the final 10 games I felt BRETT feed CHAD better than anyone all year.
Last season, as a team, we really struggled getting to the stripe. Only LOYOLA had fewer trips. The disparity in points from the line was dramatic and impacted many games. BRETT's speed to beat his defender off the dribble, penetrate, score and draw fouls may be a reason why he MAY have been coached to AVOID the TREY and take it to the hole. A missing element to last year's team (#14 in A10 getting to the line). BRETT got to the line every 7.1 mins just behind BANKS' team best 7.1 mins. CHAD got there every 9.4 mins, LUC every 10.6 mins,MOSES every 12.3 mins, YANN every 34 mins and EVANS every 61 mins (not a typo).
Last year we were #4 in steals lead by LUC's 28 thefts in conference play. He had a steal every 20 mins (#5 in the A10). BRETT took the ball away every 10 mins!
BRETT's speed and aggressive nose for the ball had him gathering in a rebound every 7.4 mins. LUC every 8.8 mins and BANKS every 9.1 mins.
I wish him success at Manhattan.

Stop talking like u won the A10 because you beat a quality MAC team

But he’s not an A10 player because bona20 and thecoach say so🤣🤣some even said he wasn’t D1 which is wild lol. Shouldn’t all of Brett’s relatives have migrated over to the manhattan board by now? I don’t know about anyone else, but I am a lot more confident in Mika Adams-Woods than a guy who regularly threw the ball away and wasn’t guarded farther than 10 feet. He’s not A-10 caliber. He may do okay in the maac. He was given a solid chance to play for bonas. He started several games and got many minutes. He’s one dimensional and does not have a jumper. I would have like him to succeed at bona.

Got to feel forSmith. Real talented kid has head injury after injury after injury.
I saw Doudan play Ohio State in a benefit game, and they have Jevon Bennett, 5’10” PG, who transferred from Merrimack, and I think was the NEC rookie of the year. They also have. Enoch Cheeks a 6’3” PG, we started at Robert Morris last year, both of them look like they could play, but they’re not Smith. Chances are Grant will mix in his veteran combo guards in the movie even a freshman.
Changing horses, I saw Florida Atlantic beat Loyola tonight, 75 to 62 in Chicago. I couldn’t find the game on any platform. Looking at the box score, Florida Atlantic played a lot of guys. I think only one guy played over 30 minutes, and that was 31 minutes FAU went up 43 to 30 at halftime in the box had them even in the second half.
