Davidson with a nice A-10 win over a P6 Maryland this evening.

Dukes beat Charleston 90-72.
St.Joes (vs. Penn), VCU and Mason also won. Dayton falls to Northwestern, 71-66. Holmes with 17.

Dayton was the only team that lost last night. The lost by 5 at Northwestern. Dayton probably has a quality Q1 loss. Losing to Northwestern (41 NET last year) by 5 at their place will not hurt A-10's NET. If anything it probably helps the A-10's NET. Now you take VCU losing at home to McNeese with a 339 NET kills the A-10. Really concerned when they were down at halftime to Sanford at home. Thankfully they won the game. Davidson defeating Maryland was an incredible win. Former Bona recruiting prospect Bobby Durking looked great. Overall impressive performance by A-10. Hopefully it continues. |

The A10 is proving to be much stronger this year as compared to recent years. Very early, but currently ranked #1 Conference RPI.  There are so many great and experienced coaches in the league now (and the teams predicted at the bottom are overachieving as a result). The disappointing losses so far have come from the predicted top 3 teams (Dayton, VCU, and SBU). www.warrennolan.com/basketball/2024/rpi-conference |

Rumpel with 16 points and 6 assists in another Manhattan win. He is leading the team in minutes played and assists, 2nd in points (12.3/game) and rebounds. It will be interesting to see how he fares against Siena, Niagara, and Canisius ...

I liked Rumpel. He was still young and getting his ears wet, but he had the quickness. Too bad he didn't stick around.
