Head down and grind ... One game at a time - One possession at a time. You can break out all the cliches.
It would seem that we all believe the talent is there, but as Bill Parcells once said - "You are what your record says you are." Time to prove it on the court - plain and simple. That goes for the Players and the Coach. If the talent is indeed there - then it is time for coach to MOTIVATE - SCHEME - DEPLOY -and MAXIMIZE that talent - period. I absolutely agree with Bigcat in that regard. Kudos to Coach for assembling this talent - now it's time for Mark to earn his paycheck.
You can show me all the 3 point shooting percentages, rebound margins, Assist to turnover ratios - blah blah blah ... Stats don't get you Tourney BIDs - Ws and Ls do - Period.
Rant Over - GO BONAS. Every game is important now.

What is going on with St Joe’s? They lost at St Louis 88-85 this evening. The Hawks have beaten Nova, Princeton, Temple (they’re not good), and lost to KY in OT. They are now 0-2 in the A10 along with Duquesne and Davidson. This is shaping up to be an exciting but unpredictable season. Very good question. In November I watched St. Joe take Kentucky into OT. Last night St. Joe was up 20 in the first half, yet lost the game. What happened? Many things being equal, Jimerson for St. Lou hit 7-11 from three. But it’s more than that. The Bonnies and St. Joe's are certainly not the only teams that perplex its fans. How about that powerhouse UCF (who lost to that other powerhouse Stetson, who lost by 18 to that other powerhouse Kennesaw St ), beating Kansas last night? FAU beats Arizona…..and loses to Bryant, Florida Gulf Coast, and a 7-7 Charlotte team? I could go on. The A-10 is overall a stronger conference this year. Yet they failed to get the respect needed in the OOC portion of the schedule to overcome failings like last night….St. Joe losing to a struggling St. Lou team. The Mountain West currently has 4 teams projected to go to the tourney. They can beat each other up and still get 4 teams in . The A-10, for whatever reason, is not afforded that luxury. They have 1 team (Dayton) projected to go to the tourney. The only way to get 2 teams in would be have someone besides Dayton win the A-10 tourney. I’m hoping that will be the Bonnies. The key to this season will be the last 3 or 4 games we play.

What kills the A10’s at large chances is games like last night, UCF, Miss St, TCU, Butler, OSU & VT all unbanked teams beating ranked teams. Eve Xavier losing to UConn at home jumped the BONNIES in the NET today.

I watched the final several minutes of the SJU-SLU game. I am still not sold on Joes as a top team in the league this year and last night added to my skepticism about them. They had SLU by the short hairs and seemed to lose focus and intensity down the stretch as Jimerson just took over, getting and hitting multiple open 3s as Joe’s defenders watched. Greer and Reynolds are really good, particularly Reynolds, but no one else really stepped up to defend with enthusiasm as the Billikens took over. Joe players looked clueless as SLU just outplayed and out-hustled them, encouraged by their fans. Now that I said that watch Joes beat us by twenty later this year, but I don’t really think so, particularly not in the RC.

Dambrot is a bad coach
Duquesne never looks organized. Way too many substitutions
And tonight you are getting destroyed on the boards. Duquesne has the Drame twins, last year they were great at rebounding at LaSalle. Dambrot keeps them on the bench. Just dumb

from SBUnfurled today:
Canisius has lost 5 of 6 after an 88-63 loss to Fairfield today, going 3-20 from deep. Their lone win since Dec. 6 was by 4 against a horrific Siena team.

Watched Richmond beat Duquesne to send Dukes to 0-4 in the league. It was a classic “let them hang around” game in that the Dukes led throughout the second half by six to nine points but could not put the Spiders away and sure enough, at the end Richmond showed experience and hit shots and free throws, taking a lead at the very end and hanging on for the W. Grant didn’t play for the Dukes because of a concussion and he could have made the difference as the Dukes missed his league leading 18ppg.
The Dukes have underperformed so far and surely didn’t expect to be winless at this point and have at SJU and home to us coming up. I hope to be at both the Cooper Center next week, then at the RC in February. I don’t want to see them come alive but they will be a desperate team no matter what.

i caught the end of the Loyola-(d)UMass game. It was a wild one, that Alston kid is a beast. He had a relentless and-1 with 1 second left to win it

He had a relentless and-1 with 1 second left to win it Much like us, Loyola struggled last year but returned key pieces and brought in very strong transfers. Some people thought it was odd they were picked as high as top 50 preseason and top 4 in the A10, but they have talent.

Watching SLU at VCU. Geez neither of these teams can shoot. Or some reason, SLU has everyone but Jimmerson shooting from deep.

Mid way into the second half withVCU in control, tough to figure what SLU is doing . They can’t score and Jimmerson has three shots in the game, is on the bench and has been getting pounded trying to set picks for teammates to shoot bricks from deep. Ford seems to have forgotten that he has one of the best shooters in the league, helll, maybe the country.

Don't know why Dambrot did not get "T"ed up as Richmond was coming from behind.
