A10 Teams (Updated 1/7/2024)
19 Dayton Atlantic 10 11-2 58 George Mason Atlantic 10 12-2 61 Saint Joseph's Atlantic 10 10-4 65 St. Bonaventure Atlantic 10 10-4 86 UMASS Atlantic 10 10-3 91 Duquesne Atlantic 10 8-5 93 Richmond Atlantic 10 9-5 116 VCU Atlantic 10 8-7 124 Davidson Atlantic 10 8-4 136 Loyola Atlantic 10 9-5 156 George Washington Atlantic 10 11-3
We need to have no more than 6 losses total to even think of getting an at large BID (15-3 A10 record). No more Jekyl and Hyde routine - steady improvement and peaking for the A10 Tournament must be the mission at this point. VCU win sure looks like "fools gold" after yesterday's flop. Time to get back to work boys ...

I was at the game. Mooney had his boys ready. There were BERY FEW clean looks. Probably one of the best defenses we’ll face this year. UR also took care of the rock, and kept Chad out of the paint with timely doubles, forcing turnovers. Almost looked like we were lost out there.

Agree TOM, BONNIES' passing to open man looked a little lethargic at times. MOONEY must have also detected a flaw in defense that allowed cutters lanes to the basket and to counteract BONNIES' hedging by perfectly placing QUINN just inside the foul line for short jumpers.

UGH ... I was thinking Mooney would have Quinn pulling CHAD away from the post - and it looks like it worked, leaving backdoor cuts wide open as well as hurting us on the defensive glass (only 3 rebounds for CHAD). Did coach mix it up on D at all (Full court pressure / ZONE 1-3-1, 2-3, or PAC-LINE in the half court) ?
When our offense gets stagnant (which it has the propensity to do), we need to mix it up on D to pick up the Tempo - IMO. Take our opponent away from what they like to do - which often jump starts our offense in the process.

Speculating.Youssou Ndoye was athletic motivated ,hard worker physically gifted, but. Pent his formative years playing soccer...once in a while under pressure he would inadvertently kick the ball...never built the instincts he would have if he’d always been a hooper. There are similarities with Venning. Great six, soft shot good moves, hard worker, improving conditioning....spen a lot of youthful time workin on...Boxing At 6’10 he’s getting guard level rebounds...... has not developed a good instinct sense of how to move on the court Don’t think bona will be top five in the A10

Don’t think bona will be top five in the A10 If SBU ends up finishing 6th or worse, this will be a 4-bid A10. Dayton is the only team that should scare us. Saint Joe's is another solid team, but they just lost to a very poor URI club. UMass looks solid and you could pencil them in the top half of the A10. Mason has gotten fat off beating bad teams. They might be good, but it's still hard to tell. Loy Chi has rattled off four-straight wins and is likely much improved from last year, but still hard to tell. They have two decent wins all season. After beating a rebuilding VCU team, people were talking at large resumes and what we needed to get that to come to fruition. Now after losing on the road to No. 93 Richmond, we aren't even good enough to finish top 5 in the A10? If we lose to either Fordham or URI next week at home, then maybe I'll be on board with that.

BONNIES drop back to 65 again but has more to do in conference teams beating higher ranked teams in their conference, something that is a very limited opportunity for the BONNIES.
