Both teams played with a high level of intensity, physicality and emotion. For our Bonnies to outperform them in front of their largest crowd of the year makes me so proud of them.
So much to be proud of in this road win.
Our D held them 13 pts below their Conference leading 80 ppg.
We overcame gifting them 10 pts at the end of the first half to be down 2.
Came out the 2nd half to beat them 39-29.
Balanced scoring (4 players in double figures), solid D, grabbing 4 more boards than the best rebounding team in the conference, and scoring + 10 in the paint lead to a much needed victory.

Excellent closeout today. 8-1 finish, that's how it's done. Bonnies picked it up on D 2nd half and also shared the ball well.
Venning 16/10, Flowers 15, MAW 14, Pride 11. UMass only 2/17 from 3 after their hot start. Near 50% fg.
Today we saw the team we thought we would see during the A10 campaign. Hasn't quite turned out that way; and yes, the Wagoneers were a bit salty after Wednesday's bad loss at LaSalle.
Today in Taxachusetts, our faith was somewhat restored. It was important for Bona to get back on track as the playoff seed battle heats up. Our Guys get high marks for a roadie well won (well, maybe not Luc since he didn't even draw iron on either of his tries).
The marchup I have long anticipated is almost here -- the Loyola Ramblers at the RC "guided" by their legendary "saint" Sister Jean.
LUC comes in hot -- looking for 7th atraight win, tied atop the A10 standings. They're up 14 on Mason today.

After closing out the first half so poorly, to do go down 2, we came out the 2nd half and took the lead 2.5 mins into the 2nd half.
We never lost the lead to the final buzzer! Outscored by 10 the final stanza. They did draw a tie 66-66 with 3:32 to play.
Then our D totally shut them down as they never scored except 1 FT. Our D caused them to go 0- 7!!!
Our foul free D caused 5 missed TREYS and 0-2 FGs to capture the impressive road win.
Tremendous effort and results.

I am not sure of the exact time but I believe Banks sat the last 5-6 min in favor of Flowers. The team was awarded by this move with both the scoring and offensive rebounds Flowers got the last four minutes.
Flowers was arguably the MVP of this game. Kudos to Schmidt with this move at the end of the game.

This was a good road win played with a lot of toughness by our guys. Moses was my player of the game.
Cohen looked like a hatchet man who starts. He was inside Chad’s jersey at times.
The officials let so many travels by UMass it’s laughable.
Watching LUC swamp Mason. We will have a tough one at home on Tuesday.

Coach Schmidt played great defense, rebounded well took care of the ball and made some clutch shots. Or was that the players? Huh? Not sure why you quoted me and it seems like you are trying to make a point about something Sorry for the misunderstanding. The point is that YOU ARE 100% right. The players won this game and the players lost the last game, not the coach.

UMass has some nice young pieces. It’s too bad Martin is such a prick that they will hit the portal after the season. I like beating them when they are good You mean Lex Luthor/Daddy Warbucks/Kojak?

The officials let so many travels by UMass it’s laughable. Watching LUC swamp Mason. We will have a tough one at home on Tuesday. Banks had maybe his best game of the year. Just 4 point and 2 boards but 5 assists all in a short period of time midway through the second half to allow Bonnies to gain control. Banks also had a key put-back. He was under control. Took only one bad shot. He sees the floor so well when he gets to the rim. Moses was awesome down the stretch but Banks’ play helped to tip the scale. Outstanding second half with 39-29 scoring edge and a big advantage on the boards. Assa did a great job on Cross. We have UMass’ number under Schmidt. Four of our A10 wins over the Minuteboys and VCU. Yet four of our losses to the Dukes, Fordham and LaSalle. Go figure.

As mentioned earlier, ASSA struggles to stay with CROSS, now it costs BONNIES the lead. What? Yes Cross got free a few times but Assa held him to 5 points and 7 boards on 2-for-8 shooting. Assa had 6 points and 5 boards so it was a stalemate.

When I wrote that observation, cross got another rebound and torched Assa to the rim. Barry was the one that held Cross most of the game. Serious props to Assa the last five minutes of the game. Assa played very good on the defensive boards.

CROSS also pulled a MAW a few times with unfinished layups a few times after getting by ASSA or his totals would have been greater. That’s why CROSS threw down a two handed slam late in the game.

Moses Flowers has been a good player for us, but he hasn’t had that signature moment as a Bonnie. Today was his moment. Incredible display of simply wanting it more than the other guy. His offensive rebounds (and steal) in crunch time were massive.
This whole team answered the bell today. What a response following Wednesday’s stinker.

Enjoyed watching the replay. So many good plays to point out on both sides of the ball.
Loved the jump touch pass from the stripe by BARRY to MIKA for a TREY. Barry has executed this quick touch pass from the paint to open TREY shooters several times this year. Maybe CHAD will learn from him to quickly hit players beyond the arc.
Of course the back to back offensive rebounds by MOSES and then CHUCK to create a TREY by Mika causing the bench to erupt was special.
Then after MIKA injured his hip CHAD dribbled to half court creating a fast break feeding ASSA for the semi windmill dunk. Another erupted Bona bench
Fabulous play making by MIKA and DARYL as evidenced by their combined 10 assists to 1 Turn Over !!! Nice to see us with 16 assists to their 14. UMass is #2 in Assists per game.
CROSS was their top scorer at the RC with 19 pts on 8-13 shooting. No doubt our D was prepped to prevent a repeat performance. They succeeded in holding him to just 5 points on 2-8 FGs, no trips to the line and forced him into 4 TOs. Quite an accomplishment against such a talented player.
The CHAD/COHEN matchup was decisively won by CHAD in the 2 games this season.
CHAD 15.5 PPG, 8.5 REBs, 10-16 FGs (63%), FTs 11-15 (73%) COHEN 11 PPG, 4.5 REBs, 8-17 FGs (47%), FTs 5-9 (56%)
This was a much needed impressive road victory following the loss in Philly.
