If Bob Lanier and Andrew Nicholson played today they would have each transferred to after 2 seasons. Psst like they didn’t try to steal Nicholson, pay for him, etc. every offseason he was here they tried I think an open portal with Nicholson would’ve helped us land an experienced, facilitating guard, hell who wouldn’t want to play with him? That could’ve been a sweet 16, Florida Atlantic type run

If Bob Lanier and Andrew Nicholson played today they would have each transferred to after 2 seasons. Maybe not Lanier since the Bona program at that point was at a much higher level, prestige wise. And he was also local. But I still think your point is valid. Nicholson, without question, would have been gone after 2. And possibly even to a blue blood. It absolutely sucks. I still wonder how long it will be before we see a 4-year player here again. Heck, even a 3-year player. We haven’t had a player enter his third year on campus since the iron 5 in 21-22 season. It obviously won’t happen in 24-25 and for 25-26, the only chance is either Thompson or Rose. But neither would be entering their third season of eligibility. So that means will go 4 full seasons (at least) without having a player use 3 seasons of eligibility here.

NO SHIT! I don't support the portal or condone it. The best part of being a fan of Bona basketball was watching players develop for 4 years. The portal makes college basketball uninteresting. That being said, complaints about it will continue until the college basketball MESS gets resolved. My gosh. You think st Bonaventure and other small schools can keep up with players being able to transfer every year? ? It's not even good for the players. Transferring 3 times in 4 years isn't helping them get an education and most likely is not helping them develop. However, I do understand as a fan that the only option is to deal with it. LOL. Holy hell Coach- Perfectly stated. This isn't college basketball when players are getting paid a million to go to a school. What a joke. It's NOT college basketball, but there's no other option but to deal with what the system is right now. This has to change or the whole structure of what college basketball was will be destroyed. This player did not stand out against st Bonaventure last season as a million dollar player. He had 16 points but did not dominate the game. LOL. Ark is overpaying for this guy but they have the money to overpay players. He's one of the top 5 portal targets but he doesn't look all that special. It's completely out of control at this point. He's leaving a really good program with a good coach. The portal has completely ruined college basketball. They really need to put a cap on it or they will lose college basketball fans. It's already hard to watch.

Hermit… the player is Johnell Davis of FAU… singed a $1 million NIL deal with coach CAL I do like his game! Yeah, He's a good player but is he really worth 1million in college. Most NBA Draft projections say he's maybe a second round pick. I wonder how much Christian Laettner would have made his senior year at duke?

CBS basketball broadcaster Seth Davis following comment is clueless about transfer portal “sorry you missed Indiana State this season. They were so fun to watch, one of their best seasons ever, and three of their top four scorers were transfers. Apparently you are unaware that mid majors can actually bring IN transfers as well. Have a great Tuesday!” Unfurl provides a chart with following “chart shows each conference's losses and gains via portal commitments so far. It also highlights who has come and gone from P5 and non-P5 conferences. 22 of the 26 non-P5 conferences have LOST value, while every P5 has *significantly* gained value.” Seth Greenberg states “You can look on the surface and say there is nothing wrong with the state of college athletics but if your look big picture; if you talk to the people living in that world there are serious problems. We must have guidelines transparency & put education back in the conversation.” twitter.com/SBUnfurled?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5EauthorCan't see how a player transferring to a new school every year is beneficial to their education. NCAA need to institute regulations and guidelines with the portal and NLI, which they originally proposed.

Money is clearly the priority over education.
