2 A10 teams make it, no surprises here. Duquesne, the tournament winner, and what we all expected, Dayton. I hope one of them make a deep run.
The Moutain West got 6 teams in.
Now, will any A10 teams make the NIT. Our hopefuls are, Richmond, VCU, and Loyola of Chicago.
By the way, college of Charleston got in.

Dayton 7 vs Nevada 10 an interesting 1st Rd matchup. Duquesne 11 will have a tough go vs 6 BYU. Cougars have better shooters.
UD would draw Arizona 2nd Rd, Dukes would face Illinois 2nd Rd.
I just LOVE the 5-12 matchups this year. JMU could ko Wiscy, UAB tossup vs SDSU, really like Grand Canyon over St Marys, and McNeese is facing a Gonzaga team not near past Zag clubs talent-wise.

Hard to believe the only thing between Bonas and the NCAA is the Duquesne Dukes...I guess should want Duquesne to win a few games in the tournament but I don't like Duquesne...

Indiana State 28-6 with a 29 Net. Snubbed.
Mich State 19-14 and 24 Net … IN. Spartans are 3-9 in Q1 and 6-5 in Q2.
Texas A&M 20-14 and 42 Net … IN. They are 7-7 in Q1 and 2-4 in Q3.
Yeah, makes sense.

I get infuriated every year I see the Mountain West Conference get more and more credit getting more teams in the big dance. Last year with four teams in I felt it was too much. This year they get six teams in. If you check the records of the teams the last two years most of them lose in the tournament in the first round games. Okay the exception was the San Diego State who made it to the final four last year. Other than that their teams have had no success going further.

This according to Lunardi, encouraging if true… “The Atlantic 10 got very good seeds for both its at-large team (7-seed Dayton) and its automatic qualifier (11-seed Duquesne). For the league's seventh-place finisher to get an 11-seed in the Big Dance tells me the league is well on its way to more bids in the future.” Also Lunardi said the committee punished the Mountain West teams in their seedings because most of their top wins were in conference. Lastly, and this is not good for Duquesne who has to play them, he speculated that BYU was dropped down a seed just because they have a rule to never play on Sundays and a 5 seed would’ve had to in round 2 www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/39755200/march-madness-2024-hits-misses-lunardi-reactions-mens-selection-committee

Duquesne received a police escort for their send-off to Omaha. Students lined a parking deck to wave good-bye. Reminds me of the Bonnies send-off in 2000 as their bus made its way through Olean and Hinsdale.

Let's see how the Dukes do compared to the Bonnies against Kentucky in 2000. Both teams had not been to the NCAAs in ages.

Really solid half for Duq. I've come to really like and respect Dambrot. Always seems to be open with his time with reporters. Very insightful. Never in a rush with a bottled answer or response. Just a guy who knows the game and has gotten the most of the talent he has this season. Guys like that will be missed in the A10. An absolute character, too.
Also - former Bona commit/back-out Noah Waterman hooping it up for BYU. Can you imagine if he had come to Bona to play for a team that underachieved and declined the opportunity to play in the NIT vs. being a #6 seed playing in the NCAA? Wow. Bet he is so thankful......

Iron Dukes did not have a good 1st half vs BYU.
They had a GREAT 1st half! Dae Dae and Necas at it offensively, and a terrific D effort to keep the Cougs grounded.
Cmon Dukes, 20 more solid minutes.

Bonas' lost to Kentucky in triple overtime. It is one of the best games in Bonas' history, even with the loss. Duquesne beat Birmingham Young in their best game since 1955.
