Some rumblings that this was not true and that would be good. I hope the athletic department responds accordingly

It's not like ESPN is going to come back out and refute Bona's claim. Do you know how much heat SBU received not only from its own fans, but from the general public? Save face. It would be a terrible look to say our coach of 18 years couldn't convince his own players to play in one more game. No chance Adams-Woods or Pride would play in that game. Throw in the transfers and the redshirts and who exactly would be able to play?

So Luc, Barry and Melian basically walked out on the Bona team, before the NIT bids were even out there.
Good riddance to bad garbage!
Mark would never turn down an NIT bid...........

I blame the NCAA for this schiff show......no MBB players should be allowed to enter the transfer portal until all tournaments are complete.
What we have now is chaos, unmitigated chaos...............players jumping ship before bids are even released........totally unacceptable on every single level......

Seniors are obligated to play through their school year under contract. There is no allegation that the Seniors mutinied...................

Skeller6 you have hit the nail on the head. the NCAA is culpable here.the portal shouldn't open until the tournaments have been completed. just another in a long line of NCAA faux paux's

I repeat: Does anyone wait to actually find out what happened before making an entire judgement anymore? Most of you are sounding like complete donkeys. If you wanted our guys to play, you would not attack their character like this.

Unless you are living in a bear cave in Allegheny State Park this should not surprise. In today’s world tradition and loyalty are less important. Hard pill to swallow for some of us. Biggest problems we had this year were consistency, commitment and chemistry. I made the comment earlier about risks of bringing in 2 5th year starters and was told no proof. I stand by my comment.

Like most Wagon fans, this rumor bothers me, so I tried to research it, and I ran across this Really good article regarding the problem behind the NIT. A couple of thoughts after reading this article - NCAA and their TV partner want eyes on the TV. So smaller league regular season champs were pushed aside for "big school U" which shows what they think of the overall D1 landscape. - whoever thought opening the Portal before the tournaments finished was a good idea for overall college basketball? What is wrong with waiting for a few more weeks - This is me - when a player accepts a scholarship, isnt there some contractual relationship that says they fulfill their contract for the year before moving on? - personally, I don't think the rumor is true. Just a few years ago, an underperforming Bona team went on to have a good run in the NIT, shich excited fans, and probably helped the transfering players by giving them additional tape of playing well against good competition. Here is the article www.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/columnist/dan-wolken/2024/03/18/nit-rejection-college-basketball-ncaa-tournament/73019999007/

I'm sure the 3 that couldn't wait to jump ship are just trying to find the school that offers them the best curriculum for their educational goals. LOL.
