These tournaments are one chance to play power 5 teams on a neutral court. Bona has beaten Maryland, Oklahoma State, Clemson, and Marquette in tournaments in recent years. This is another example of power 5 screwing the little guy. Wake Forest and Minnesota, are power 5 teams SBU could beat, but now won't have the chance. You are all obsessed with playing power five teams and strength of schedule crap I think it would be better to play mid majors and let the big boys play themselves split the tourney it would create much more excitement for teams like Bonas especially with the NIL and schools paying players crap.

I cannot, in any circumstance, understand how playing in the “B bracket” could create much more excitement for Bona. It’s a complete lose-lose scenario, let alone pretty embarrassing to be invited to an MTE and be told you’re not good enough to play with the big boys. I’d want absolutely nothing to do with this tournament if it is indeed split into 2.

Once again, Bona alums lead the nation in running with assumptions and not asking follow up questions. Would the old format of this Disney tourney be preferred? Sure. Should the “B” portion be eschewed. No. Nothing wrong with a game against Wichita St and whoever the other two opponents will be. Nothing wrong with the exposure from playing in any ESPN event. I’m tired of knee jerk potshots from those who supposedly care about the program. Zip and and write a check.

They said "we aren't going unless you move us to the A group". I don't think complaining about this is a knee jerk reaction. Criticism of what ESPN did here is warranted.

I enjoy Bonas' playing the power 5 teams (or maybe now Power 4). Bonas' gets a lot of respect from their fans. Strength of schedule can make or break a team on Selection Sunday.

The only way Bonas gets into the NCAA tourney is if they win the A10 they will never get in as a atlarge team again. The playing field is not level anymore. It is not giving up it is just facing the facts. maybe the mid majors should have their own NCAA tourney. Wouldn't it be better for Bonas to get to the sweet sixteen of of mid majors tourney almost every year than to go one and done every twenty or so years?

AS per the A or B group thing. I look at it this way - if B, we have a new group of fine young men on the team thoroughfare, let them get their game together so they can play for the win.
Question is will the Bonnies play in Orlando?

IMO before we complain about scheduling, we need to have better OOC results. Then more we lose to Canisius, Niagara, Northern Iowa, etc (quality teams, but not at the top of the pyramid), the less likely we are to be matched up with the “A” level teams. It also doesn’t help that we are not affiliated with a yearly MTE where we can show a history of success and use that to influence matchups. Dominate the yearly OOC, end the cringe-worthy losses, then we can make a case for better matchups.

Norm Crosby said something very similar but not exactly..but it was indirectly quoted and semi partly paraphrased
