Saint Joe’s and Billy Lange are getting dragged for losing at home to CCSU, but Providence nearly lost to them at home Monday.
CCSU was picked alongside Wagner to win the NEC. They’re really not a bad club.

Duquesne loss was in New Jersey at an event in Trenton, about a half hour from Princeton, so technically a neutral site but nearly a home game for Princeton.

FGCU is 0-2 but they should not to be taken lightly. I watched highlights of their 16-pt loss at TCU. I’m sure Chuck and others will give us a full rundown of FGCU’s roster. The Eagles were in both games at TCU and at UNC Greensboro until the final minutes.
In the opener, Greensboro closed with an 11-0 run at home to break open a one-point game.
In game 2, TCU pulled away late after FGCU began pressing full-court with 4 minutes left and down 10. The game was even with 12 minutes left. IMO, FGCU will be the Bonnies toughest test thus far.
Also, the 4 teams in the ESPN Orlando tourney in late November are all 2-0. Our first opponent Utah State is always tough … and have several veterans back from last year when they were a #8 seed in the big dance. UNI and North Texas round out the field.

Concur with big cat that golf Coast Despite being 02 will be probably our biggest challenge so far this year. I watched portions of their game against UNC Greensboro and they were down by double digits a couple of times came back tied the game and there’s noted UNC Greensboro went on an 11 oh run to finish it but some observations they have a 68 big Kelman is the name extremely athletic strong player Heat to me. Is there their inside force other players of note there was a Rory Stewart who is Rhode Island transfer who is kind of their sharp shooter coming off the bench and they’ve got a number of other players that are in the 6465 range so play a lot of guards along with I mention Kelman I said I think that they two seem to be pretty athletic so I think it’s gonna be a challenge they stuck with TCU for a good portion of the game and TC was just got better personnel and in the end one pretty handy but again I think a game that they’re pretty hungry. Haven’t won a game yet. They’ll be playing at home and so I guess that I think it’ll be a real challenge for us to see how we play.

Any heat on Lange for the CCSU loss just disappeared as St. Joes beat Villanova on Hawk Hill. Impressive win in which they were challenged and were slightly behind down the stretch, but pulled out the W hitting key buckets and free throws in the final minutes.

You might not be wrong, but last night shouldn't take any heat off him, and I think a lot of St Joe’s fans would agree. For one thing, Villanova isn’t Villanova right now. No tournament appearances the last two years under Neptune, and losses to Columbia and St Joes in your first 4 isn’t an indicator that will turn around. St. Joes also went through very similar last year- a loss in their second game to Tex A&M Commerce (who?), followed by an OT loss to UK and a win at Nova. This propelled them to fringe at large conversations by the end of OOC, where they stumbled to an 0-3 start and 9-9 finish.
Most St Joes fans right now need to see consistency for a whole season to take Heat off Lange, with the talent they have. A win over a Big East squad paired with a loss to the NEC is exactly the inconsistency that is thinning their patience. They’re in a precarious spot. For sure, he has underachieved, but St Joes isn’t a seller’s market type of job guaranteed to land a stud. It’s a question of how long OK, but not where you want to be, is acceptable. Like an NFL team with a lower middle tier QB trying to weigh their future.
