Yes, the Holocaust should commemorated by the Campus Ministries Center, along with the Irish Famine, the Armenian Genocide, and the Ukrainian Extermination under Stalin. Millions of Catholics were killed in these campaigns. By the way there were indeed six million Jews murdered by the the Nazi's in the period 1940 to 1945, and in addition there many more millions of Slavs, Roma, political prisoners, priests and nuns who were likewise murdered. All these events need to be commemorated by Campus Ministries...... we need a broader view. "......we need a broader view." Exactly what the new Campus Ministries facility is all about. Now let's get back to the Presidential Search discussion. How will the Interim President and new CFO be selected and what are the time frames?

How about commemorating all those who unjustly had their lives taken. NOW --- back to the " Presidential Search " topic, I don't think they would have to look hard, there are a few posters right here on the Bandwagon that would make a GREAT President of St Bonaventure University! Go Bonnies I will not seek, nor will I accept....

If there actually is someone on this campus who is offended by the symbols of our Lord, or of the Catholic faith, or the Franciscan movement (its hard to believe that such an unlikely instance could possibly justify the removal of our community's symbols from the new meeting room at the Campus Ministries Center) then that individual can relocate to any one of hundreds of non denominational colleges in this country. Being Catholic and Franciscan is who we are. All are welcome, but know the players before you arrive. Being faith neutral doesn't cut it.

Now he's calling for decreased enrollment...so if I were, say, a Baptist and didn't feel that the Pope was all that, because, after all, he IS just a man....then firstdev is saying he wouldn't want me there?

Only Tom G could post this really bizarre pap.......let's see now a Baptist, offended by symbols of the Pope, Catholicism, and Francis enrolling at Bonas. Yea Ok! Maybe we would not get transfers from Bob Jones University? Ok! Almost as good as his post to boycott the purchase of BB tickets, then oops he reversed himself. Please Tom get a grip.......

Firstdev - I often take exception to your posts, but your comments about the Campus Ministries are spot on. Why in the world would there not be the symbols you referenced in your post?

The search seems pretty comprehensive. Appears that anyone wanting to provide input will be given the opportunity to do so. Key items that I'm sure the Search Committee is hearing include substantially raising enrollment numbers and making the academic curriculum more relevant (career focused). From my end I'd also like to see another major capital campaign to include replacing Dev/Rob Fal with a new, state of the art dorm.

Firstdev - I often take exception to your posts, but your comments about the Campus Ministries are spot on. Why in the world would there not be the symbols you referenced in your post? Many thanks. Yes we are a Catholic University in practice, and we need to be proud of that fact. Deleting symbols of our faith from the meeting hall at the new Campus Ministries Center sends the wrong message. Namely, that we are engaging in some type of politically correct rhetoric that caters to a "faith neutral" ideology. Being Catholic and Franciscan is who we are, nothing to be ashamed of in any way. We need to have no guilt about proselytizing on behalf of our faith. All are welcome to our faith.

gdub - Thanks for the info. I hope that many folks take the time to send along their thoughts about their own requirements for the President of this great university located on one of the most beautiful campuses in America. The process needs input from all sectors of our community. Go Bonas!
