I'm sure the guys have been playing and was wondering if anybody has been watching and what is the scoop on how the new guys look: Tshiefu, Brockington, Gueye, Poyser.
Also, how improved are Ikpeze, Stockard(health), Griffin & Ayeni. It's been awfully quiet and I'm dying to hear some information!!!

Attached is JP's article titled "Stockard still an unknown to Bona fans." He gives an update on Courtney Stockard and Ndene Gueye's injuries. JP says of Courtney "at this point, it’s unclear just how much Stockard will be able to provide. According to Mest, Bona is taking its time with its thrice-over junior guard, easing him back into full activity. There’s a cautious optimism that he’ll be ready to play by the time the season starts on Nov. 10." With Ndene JP comments "the situation isn’t as muddled. Gueye has not yet been cleared for a return to team activities, Mest said over the weekend. There’s no definitive timetable for his clearance, but he’s not expected to be out long term." www.oleantimesherald.com/sports/stockard-still-an-unknown-to-bona-fans/article_c7ab6a64-9102-11e7-97e1-03ce262ee8d8.html

Just got back from the RC. I want to see Amadi being banged on by Holloway, but the A10 may be sleeping on this young man! Bonas doesn't have anyone who can guard him. Watched three games and he must have had 10 buckets. Jaylen, if possible, looked even better. Matt played very well. The freshmen looked good. Izaiah played very good d on Poyser and Chief was really good! Played really good pick and roll defense on Jaylen. Hit the boards well. Neither made many buckets. Courtney and Ndene did not play.

Anything Stockard contributes this season will be a bonus. Seems like that foot injury will always be an issue.

I hope I am wrong, but I think Stockard is going to fall in the "woulda, coulda, shoulda" category of St. Bonaventure, who's potential career was cut short by illness or injury. I know a long time ago there was a player from St. Francis in Athol Springs that was diagnosed with a serious illness and never suited up for the Bonnies. His name escapes me, but coming out of HS we had high hopes.

possibly Vory Billups from Bennett hs, i believe...best outta frannies, besides sbu grads JH and Dr bill flynn, was chris patton who went to maryland and suffered a premature death on the court.

Dr. Bill Flynn - very good first baseman with a pretty good stick too. Now Chief Trauma Surgeon at ECMC. Class of '77. Of course JH is irreplaceable.

I confused Chris Patton with Vory Billups. Patton was from St Francis. Vory was the player who never suited up. So you are right on both accounts.

Jimmy Satalin stated once that his biggest near miss on recruiting was Rosie Bouie - he said #2 was Chris Patton - that would make JH #3 ; )) Patton was a native of Alabama - he played on the power house St Francis teams of the mid 70's by utilizing the dorms available at the Athol Springs campus - most of their starting 5 were from out of the area during that time. St Francis was ranked #1 small school in NY State his senior year.

It ended the Bonnies dominance in NYS, and heralded the emergence of Syracuse as a dominant power. Sadly, I say...
