My youngest brother just enrolled for the class of ‘23 a couple weeks ago so this ‘14 grad is doing my best to recruit! He’s going to major in biology. Pretty excited about him being there the next four years. Now I just have to work on turning him into a basketball fanatic like myself

A week or so ago, I was told we were just shy of 500 and would have it when all was said and done.

Does anyone know the overall enrollment numbers for the Class of 2023 plus transfers? Seems like Admissions would have that data available by now.

Hit 500 freshmen today and over 20 transfer students.

The numbers are looking good. The transfer #s always grow during the summer. Terrific work being done by the Admissions staff, SHARE volunteers, and professors who present to families on their programs.

Hit 500 freshmen today and over 20 transfer students. What were we say 5 years ago when it was kind of a low point?

Bernie Valento is the best thing to happen to SBU in a long time. He is kind of the Mark Schmidt of the admissions world. I don't know what his salary is, but it should be more. He has done a great job at SBU.

New classes were coming in under the 400 mark, 380/390ish.. being back up to 500+ is great. 2015 the undergraduate enrollment was in the 1,500 range. SBU website has it at 1,812 in 2018. www.sbu.edu/about-sbu/sbu-factsstill lots of work to do but the climb is encouraging

Give the guy a raise. Dr. DePerro too. Outstanding performance from both of them.

Absolutely outstanding news. This administration deserves high praise for righting the ship. Few universities in the Catholic field have experienced this scale of enrollment increase. Great job in pushing allied health majors. Contrast this with the slow decline from the past group of Ft Duquesne acolytes. Bonahil is now a forgotten concept destined for the dust pile of history.

I understand this is a “sports message board”, but considering the subject of your post, perhaps you could figure out a way to express your opinion while still showing some respect.
