Unfortunately our last two results now make paying more attention to the teams around us necessary. I still remain optimistic that the team will show their resilience and bounce back with 2 wins to finish out the regular season. However, I am pulling for RI today to take care of business today against SLU, and for VCU and Richmond to stop the Dukes and Davidson. This will be an interesting week for sure.
Update - so the Bullykins knocked off URI today. Better get back to chopping some wood this week.

I have seen conflicting positioning regarding the current standings of the 3 10-6 teams.....Duquesne, Bonnies and Saint Louis. This is my interpretation, and I would like discussion.
This is from the A10 website regarding a 3-way tie.
1. Head-to-head competition.
a. Use each team’s record against the tied teams as a group rather than performance against individual teams. When comparing records against a group of teams, the higher winning percentage will prevail. In case of tied percentages vs. the team or group of 1.000 or .000, the following shall apply: 2-0 is better than 1-0; 0-1 is better than 0-2.
2. If the above results in two teams remaining, the two-team tiebreaker is used.
Head-to-head:
Duquesne: 2-0 vs Saint Louis, 1-1 vs Bonnies = 3-1 Bonnies: 1-1 vs Duquesne, 0-0 vs Saint Louis = 1-1 Saint Louis: 0-2 vs Duquesne, 0-0 vs Bonnies = 0-2,
So as of now the Dukes have the double bye.
The Dukes play at VCU and Richmond at home. They must lose at least 1 of those games for us to have a chance. The Billikins play @mason, and us at their place.

Saw this in a USAtoday article, and I thought this was the best place for the quote. Nothing new to Bona and A10 fans
"Not everybody is happy that college basketball offers virtually unending chances at redemption. Schools from mid and low-major programs operate under very different rules, but that’s not changing anytime soon. The big money schools own the heavy hand in how the NCAA operates its tournament and those guidelines aren’t about to change.
So Northern Iowa can’t stub its toe against Indiana State or Bradley and Saint Mary’s had better not lose to Pepperdine or San Diego. Their tournament hopes end. In the meantime Indiana (NET of 54 and 8-10 in the Big Ten) will find its way into the field"

You succinctly hit the nail on the head......go 2-0, finish 4th. Assuming Duquesne wins out, we win the tiebreaker....we are 0-1 vs Dayton, they are 0-2. Now let's do it.

I still don’t get people’s obsession with the four seed. You want to play Dayton if we win Friday? We don’t match up with them well.
Get the five or six seed and avoid UD. In an ideal world, Dayton would play VCU and then SLU. They could lose one of those games. We don’t have the interior defense to stop Dayton.

The five seed would mean we play an extra game on Thursday and then play the four seed on Friday, the winner of which still faces Dayton in the semi-finals on Saturday. So by your ideal scenario, only the 6 seed would be ideal - to avoid Dayton

My mistake...just realized that. A10 tourney championship will need to go through Dayton regardless. As stated before, would rather have them on Saturday in Brooklyn, than Sunday. Still, likelihood of beating them is low. Still want one less game (double bye), and Dayton Saturday. Getting to Saturday nets at least 20 wins. Cannot be disappointed with that.

BonaWolf,
This is my thinking...Duquesne, St. Louis and VCU are the only teams that have given Dayton fits this year. I would love to see them on the same side of the bracket.
You might be right that we won’t beat UD, but I think it’s more likely that one of those teams beats Dayton or at least roughs them up a little to make them a little weaker.

From what I saw last night at Rhody, fat chance. This UD club has the package, and the league's top combo in Obi and Crutcher.

Win at St Louis & 4th gives us better shot at an NIT bid. Just want team to get some post season experience whether it be NCAA or NIT.
