Win at St Louis & 4th gives us better shot at an NIT bid. Just want team to get some post season experience whether it be NCAA or NIT. I really like the 4th seed - it gives our young team more tournament play to get a win in Brooklyn on Friday and let them have the experience of playing a top 5 team in the nation in a tournament setting. These kids are all sophs and frosh - a great experience for them - and ya never know if you are firing on your 3's.....

if we win Saturday does it clinch the double bye no matter what? It would seem YES We beat St Louis would create a 2-team time with Duquesne We are 1-1 with Dukes We win (on 2B below)the next tie breaker of winning % against highest opponent (Dayton) We are 0-1 Dukes are 0-2 Tie Breaker 1. Head-to-head competition. 2. Conference record of the tied teams based on winning percentage versus the highest common opponent and proceeding down to the lowest common opponent, if necessary, until one team gains an advantage. a. All ties are broken in descending order. b. When arriving at another pair of tied teams, use each team’s record against the tied teams as a group. When comparing records against a group of teams, the higher winning percentage will prevail. In case of tied percentages vs. the team or group of 1.000 or .000, the following shall apply: 2-0 is better than 1-0; 0-1 is better than 0-2.

if we win Saturday does it clinch the double bye no matter what? Yes. Lose the game and most likely the 5 but there are a couple ways we fall to 6.

"Conference record of the tied teams based on winning percentage versus the highest common opponent and proceeding down to the lowest common opponent"---Well 0-2 and 0-1 against Dayton are both 0.000% winning percentage. Still tied.

Bonnies win = 4th Bonnies loss + Richmond win = 5th Bonnies loss + Duquesne win = 6th If we don’t get the #4, then I want the #6... game against a double-digit seed on Thursday... late game versus a downtrodden URI on Friday night... and a clash with a beatable Richmond on Saturday... all while SLU knocks off UD in the other semifinal! Then the Bonnies avenge last year’s loss and send the “Blue Grinches” packing and get the automatic bid!

URI is sinking fast, and I’m hoping VCU roughs up Dayton before their game with SLU/Duquesne. Even if UD wins, I think both teams have the ability to wear Dayton down a bit.

Dayton is the FACE of the A 10 right now. Come on.....we want them to wn the A 10. The best scenario for the A10 is to have the Flyers win National Championship. That helps us all. It is just not our time yet.

I can see your point HERMIT ... but I ain't havin it ! GO BONAS - We can do this. The future is NOW - a lot of things can happen going forward. We need to seize the moment and dial it in for a run RIGHT NOW ...
The best scenario is for the A10 to get as many teams in the DANCE as possible - then rack up some Ws against the P5s. DAYTON is no doubt our flag bearer - and will advance far - but 2 or 3 teams in the DANCE is the best scenario for the A10.
GO BONAS

The Flyers will get into the NCAA regardless of what happens in the A10...so the best case (somewhat realistic) scenario is Bonnies win the A10 tourney and Dayton still wins the national championship

But that is just me.

I have read about the advantages of us losing to Saint Louis, and therefore not getting the double bye, finishing 6th and not having to play Dayton until Sunday.....which will be our 4th game in 4 days....there 3rd game in 3 days.
Remember last year how concerned we were of playing VCU, then URI knocked them off. Or our path to the championship in 2012....the favored team was Temple who got knocked off by UMass.....would we have beaten Temple? We usually did not.
So we have to beat our opponent whoever it is......just take one game at a time, I want the double bye, then if we lose to Saint Louis, I'll say aren't we lucky for the 6th seed.

Root for the Dukes tonight. Less incentive to the Billies to win tomorrow if they don’t get the 4 no matter what.
