Seems like a decade ago, when AJ was at the Patrick School, talking to him outside the Barclays as his coach brought him & Winston to see the Bonnie's who had interest in him. He told me he would be a Bonnie and was excited about the Good Journey. He sure has had a long well traveled journey since then.
As a soph in NYC he was the city's top scorer. Left for prep after his soph HS year and I was so happy he came to Bona after his senior year at the Patrick school HS team. He did not play on the grad St Patrick team with Winston.
Delighted he is dancing!
AJ has had a long journey. I can still see his wide smile when we approached him outside the Barclays as I called out "There's the Queens kid." He was is awe of the support of Bona at Barclays and that someone recognized him as a potential Bona recruit.
All the best to a good kid that had a stop at Bona along his long journey.
Once again the Bona support at Barclays was impressive and the DUKES felt the pressure as we came from 15 down to within 4 with the ball in our hands under 6 mins. An unforced TO and circus shot clock beating TREY turned a potential 1 point deficit to 7 in a flash. Ouch!
The Bona fans are known for traveling well. As the smallest Div I school SBU turms out in #s that are incredible. Thank you to all that turned out across the country to support Bona!
As we recruit for next season our visiting student athletes must know that basketball at Bona will be a special experience that will stay with them for a life time.
