Announcements at 5pm tonight.. Seeing that Rhody’s fanbase is heavily invested on Twitter, if he doesn’t pick Bona’s I hope he stays out of the A10 or at the very least he doesn’t pick VCU CAM never visited VCU, that was scheduled for after BONAS. Part of me wants to say that’s a good sign but that would obviously also mean our chances aren’t good either, either way I guess with less then 5 hours to go we’ll find out soon enough |

I think Carter was from Silver Creek , N.Y....an alltime Bonnie from wny!! George Carter may have been the greatest all around athlete ever to wear the Brown and White, and that is no exaggeration! Carter excelled at track, baseball, basketball, and football in both high school and at Bonas. He was ALL WNY for his tenure at Silver Creek High School, on the shores of Lake Eire......in each of those sports, and had to play two spring sports - track and baseball to boot! He is the only Bona athlete ever to be drafted by the NFL, AFL, NBA and MLB. He played for the Detroit Pistons and ABA Virginia Squires where he was the second leading scorer at one to Julius Erving! He was also involved in one of most legendary brawls in SBU history, when he fought CC tough guy Dennis Misko in the Aud in 1966. Misko submarined Carter after George stole the ball and was racing to the bucket when Misko arrived to knock Carter to the floor. Both got up swinging.....Carter won on points.....just unreal. Bonas won too. Long may these legends live in annals of Bonas history!! Carter - best there ever was, best there ever will be? |

True story-at that time my Dad(Bona grad) and a couple of his friends(also Bona grads) had a best friend who was a Canisius grad, they got a mannequin from a local clothing store, dressed it in a homemade Canisius MISKO uniform and hung the mannequin from the Canisius grad’s front porch. Many thanks for this story. The Bonas/CC rivalry was super heated at this time, both school had very good teams, and while Bonas generally won, it was very competitive.....Carter and Butler for Bonas, and Andy Anderson and Misko among others for CC........... |

Not sure I’ve seen any connection yet…but he is at Putnam, from Rochester, played at Kearney, younger brother of Quinton. Hopefully he isn’t set on college in an urban environment like his brother.

It is a very strange or should I call it an interesting coincidence with Will Loving- Watts. 3 months to the day we had a thread announcing a rumor Will Loving-Watts committed to the Bonnies on June 16. Many searched (including myself), but couldn't find any confirmation of his commitment.
