Really believe that 6'8 wing Tareque Foster is a prime target. NY kid now at you know where but this kid could become a big time scorer eith range all over the floor. I am glad we are back to our favorite role of being the hunter.

Looks like Miles Rose and Will Lovings-Watts are in together from Putnam.

Unfurled has pictures of Schmidt with Miles Rose and Will Loving-Watts, while they are wearing Bona jerseys. There is also a picture of Barry Evans with Miles and Will. Barry and Miles Rose were teammates at Putnam this season. Hopefully this visit works out as well as when Moses and Tyrell visited Bona together. Would like to see Putnam pipeline continue.

per SBUUNFURLED St. Bonaventure has landed Putnam Science Academy's Miles Rose, per his IG. The Rochester native/Bishop Kearney alum is a 6'5" combo guard with a 6'9" wingspan, and the Bonnies' first class of 2023 signee.

I thought maybe Lovings-Watts was more likely, given the chatter on this board that he had committed over the summer. Quinton was very good at Temple, hopefully Miles can bring it for us.

MOZAE DOWNING-RIVERS 6-6 PG from Barton CC has been offered by ST. BONAVENTURE, qualifier with 3 years of eligibility. Duquesne has also offered.

Does anyone know Rose’s strengths, style of play, etc.? Is he an outside shooter, slasher? Strong on D as with most of Schmidts’s recruits? At his height, I presume he can be an effective rebounder at the guard position. Do his stats support my presumption?

How many ships? Still have offers going out? If everyone comes back we’re full for next year but unlikely all no one transfers and everyone opts for the Covid year so we’ll see

Ceharv— With Covid and with Rose going to Putnam last year, I haven’t seen him in a while As a youngster at Bishop Kearney, he used his quickness and hops to penetrate either going to the rim or pulling up for floaters He showed good stroke on jumper but (at least then) was certainly not a shoot first guard Much more of a slasher type Recent articles say he plays strong D which was not a forte of his older brother

6’5” Miles Rose profile — Videos displays Miles as a typical Schmidt recruit. He is long, lanky and athletic. — Played varsity at Bishop Kearney for his freshman and sophomore year. Sophomore year earned Division 1 All-League team honors in 2020. — Took a big step up in competition by transferring to Putnam. — Miles played “sparingly” his first 2 years at Putnam. Putnam’s head coach Tom Espinosa states “now coming out this year like a new player, his confidence is through the roof and he shoots the ball unbelievably. Miles should be our starting point guard and have a tremendous season.” The AAU tournament Finklestein is referring to was played in July. Miles team the NY Jayhawks had 12 wins, which was tied for 5th place. Impressive finish with 32 teams in the tournament. Of the 9 games Miles played, he was Jayhawks 2nd leading scorer at 9.6 ppg (which is misleading as games are low scoring, can play 2 games in a day and all 13 players have PT in every game). Miles had impressive shooting stats. For the 9 games Miles shot 41 of 90 from the field for 45.6% and was even more impressive from 3s shooting 5 of 11 for 45.4%. newenglandrecruitingreport.com/in-the-news/rose-commits-to-st-bonaventure3ssbcircuit.com/player/2-miles-rose/twitter.com/AdamFinkelstein

It will be interesting following his season at Putnam this year.

Thanks for the info guys, I appreciate the effort I was too lazy to make myself. On the one hand, being a “typical ” Schmidt recruit sound less than exciting, but on the other hand Schmidt has done pretty damn well with his guys. Picking up a guy on the upswing as it appears Rose is from the comments of the PSA coach is another of Schmidts’s specialties (Gregg, English/Holmes as examples). In fact, I wonder if that’s the true benefit of the PSA pipeline. Just speculating, but I wonder if what has developed is that the PSA staff contacts the Bona staff with info along the lines of “ Guys, the world knows about our star Joe ABC, but people are missing out on John XYZ who is a solid player who is really on the upswing and someone you guys have shown the ability to coach into stardom.” And then we jump in, resulting in a benefit to both programs. Bona gets a good player, PSA gets to tout yet another D1 ‘ship player coming out of its program which it can use to attract even more - duel back-scratching.

One of the coaches happens to be Mark's son, so I think we already know the PSA players we want, and who would be a fit.
