What the heck is the Manhattan AD doing anyway?
What possesses a new AD to take down an entire MBB program two weeks before the start of the season, and cause a mass team boycott?
Sounds like Manhattan needs to search for a new AD asap with a level headed attitude. Also sounds like this was an affirmative action hire, a hire without the necessary experience or seasoning to interact with varied personalities and athletes.
What a sad clown show for a proud and accomplished program.

Perez is an impressive player I have seen several times. After playing at WINGS in the South Bronx he prepped at PSA. I have heard he is more than a handful off the court.
AD Marianne Reilly has been the AD at MC for 6 years returning to her Alma Mater after 30 years at Fordham. She was a 1,000 pt scorer for the Jaspers.
There are a lot of unknowns to this story of Masiello's departure that few are aware of. The timing of his departure could not be worse. Some recent action must have caused this decision.
The AD is a neighbor/friend of mine but I know none of the details.

Rumor has it that Masiello walked in and demanded a significant raise and extension and made some untoward comments regarding his reaction if he did not receive same. As a result, he was immediately dismissed. Only a rumor, but that is what I have heard. Take it with a grain.

If true, that type of behavior by Masiello would not be out of character.

Putnam had their first game. It is interesting to see Miles Rose and Will-Loving Watts are not listed in the box score, which is listed below. Another Bona recruit Duane Thompson (has at least 3 Power 6 offers) is also missing in the box score. Box score 11/4 Game 1: Darryl “Buddy” Simmons 27P 8A 4R Blake Barkley 18P 6R DJ Dormu 16P 6R Mouhamed Dioubate 12P 13R Ben Ahmed 8P 7R Ramsay Checo 8P Adamu Jabal Muazibini 2P 10R. Schmidt and staff certainly wants the Putnam pipeline to continue. Putnam has 14 players on their roster and according to Verbal Commits Bona has made an offer to 7 of them. Miles Rose Will-Loving Watts Darryl Buddy Simmons 5’10” Blake Barkley LOI Northwestern Mouhamed Dioubate LOI Alabama Duane Thompson 6’8” Ramsay Checo 6’2” Buddy Simmons is an interesting prospect. -- 5’10” PG Darryl “Buddy” Simmons was the leading scorer in the 1st game with 27 points. He was Putnam’s starting PG as a sophomore. It is strange as Arturo Dean was Putnam's starting PG last season. Doing a google search I did not find Simmons listed in any box scores or mentioned that he played last season. I was able to find information on Miles Rose, who did not play much. -- Buddy Simmons says Kyle Lofton is one of his 4 favorite college players. He stated “Kyle Lofton at St. Bonaventure is a player, who contribute to winning on a high major team. Following is more from Prep Hoops. “Some Putnam Science Academy guys, so you got a chance to play against Kyle Lofton? Yea when I was in 8th grade when we had open gyms at our school. I was allowed to play in them when they asked me, so I used to play against him and with him in open gyms in front of college coaches as well. It was fun, a lot of learning though. Kyle Loften, Hassan those guys were some of the best guards I’ve played against.” Future Bona offers? 2 interesting freshman from Africa. Ben Ahmed 6’9” Nigeria Akron offer. Adamu Jabal Muazibini 6’10” Ghana St. John offer. twitter.com/PSAhoops?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthorwww.prephoops.com/2021/05/new-england-pg-to-know-darryl-simmons-ii-exclusive-interview/www.prephoops.com/2021/05/new-england-pg-to-know-darryl-simmons-ii-exclusive-interview/

Kevin Overton is a 6'4 smooth guard who can cover the 1 and 2 positions. Strong build with really nice left hand jumper out to 25-28 foot range. With passing and ball handling to control the flow of the game this kid is a complete athlete who scores at all 3 levels. I see this smooth lefty as a perfect A10 athlete. Nice find by Coach Lowe.

Watched film today of Kevin Overton again. He is a potential 3 position athlete and in my estimation at least a 3 star. Well built athlete who would pair well with Farell to take us up a level in A10.This kid is a smooth shooter and sees the floor for any scoring opportunity he can take advantage of. He would be an upgrade at the guard positions and is listed anywhere from 6'4 to 6'7.

Anyone know how our recruit Rose is doing for PSA? I looked at their website and could not figure out how to access player stats or if that is even available on their site, so I cannot report. It looks like the team is putting up big offensive numbers and hopefully Rose is gaining valuable experience in leading the team from the point. I invite anyone with more knowledge or internet skills/ patience to add info.

Just an update on this physical scoring guard. He has a 6'10 wingspan that is very important in supporting his defensive capabilities. He is a shut down guard which is rare in college basketball. Showcased for Sunrise Christian Academy that defense and all around game in a triple overtime game. He scored 28 and committed one personal foul. I think another guard like him makes us a legitimate A10 top 3 next year and tournament bound. His recruitment besides Bonnies offer is San Diego,Drake,Univ Texas S.A., North Texas.
