Mike Rhoads was a good guy and decent coach, but Odom is a huge upgrade for VCU in my opinion. They same out smelling like a rose. That team that was in the tournament was not a great team and I think they had a certain level Rhoads could take them to. Odom can have them fighting for a final four berth in my opinion.

Schmidt makes $1.8m. Rhoades was making $1.6m at VCU. Odom made $800,000 this past season at Utah State and there is most likely a $1m buyout that VCU will eat.

In March 2022 it was reported that Coach Schmidt was making a base salary of $900K+.

Schmidt was mentioned among the candidates for the vacant Boston College position last season and again this season for the opening at the University of Massachusetts. When the Minutemen administration offered Schmidt to double his current salary to $1.8 million per season, St. Bonaventure upped its ante for the North Attleboro native and matched the offer.

They didn’t match the offer, Schmidt stayed home for less. They upped his current salary. It is in the same article

Interesting that…

Duke’s Scheyer is # 4 on the list at $7.3 million in year one. Why? He probably would have taken the job for less than half that much.

Hubert Davis led UNC to the NCAA title game in year one in 2022 and is #52 at $2.3 million. Shocking disparity.

Rick Pitino is #100 on the list at $1 million per year at Iona … will triple his salary at St John’s ($3.3 million) … but Ed Cooley will make $6 million per year at Georgetown.

the Bandwagon has like 10 Volunteer Coaches that would Coach/recruit/schedule for free. Also, they are more knowledgeable than the current coach and AD. LMAO
