On a sour note, never have seen a BONA game where an opponent ripped the ball away from BONNIES players as tonight, I did not think this could happen to CHAD but it did at least twice!

Presser quotes:
Schmidt: “UMass was more physical than us in the first half, but we did a much better job in the paint on both ends of the floor in the second half... It was hard to run offense and there were a lot of ball screens. It’s hard to attack a set defense."
Flowers: “We knew what it was, and we just had to come together and come back because it’s a place we’ve been before. It doesn’t matter the style of the game we just have to show up and play well every night."
Adams-Woods: “I have to cherish and enjoy every day and I love this place and these fans. That’s one thing I learned this year being here is that it’s just great to be a Bonnie.”

Nice, gritty win. Each game we have to battle our own demons … most of it seems mental. Don’t recall a Bona team like this in some time.
As I have posted before, yes some of these A10 teams play good D but our offense is so inconsistent. Nothing flows for long stretches. We have shooters, talent, experience and muscle but we go dark too often on offense. Tonight we score 79 points on 51% shooting and a 19-11 edge on FTs, but not a great night from the line (68%).
Chad can score but he also clogs the offense with his slow decision making. If he/we ever learn to kick the ball in and out of the post much quicker and abuse the double teams then the Bonnies would be unstoppable.
Chuck can be elite though he gets forgotten on offense too often. Tonight he did not settle for the outside shot. Chuck was much quicker than any UMass player guarding him. It’s like that many nights but we do not make him a focal point and/or he is too unselfish.
Bonnies stopped turning over the ball in final 15 minutes and hit the boards. If we can find a way to avoid these mental hiccups and offensive comas there’s a chance…

So true, and it would also help him out if the defense stopped collapsing on him. We do have good shooters they just aren't the type that can create their own shot and need a good open look.

Glad he is enjoying the Bona experience. Wondered if a rift was developing between he and coach. We need Mika on the floor for 37+ minutes. I love his game.

Need to find a way to get Mika more shots. Let's all say it again - "Need to find a way to get Mika more shots".
He's our most efficient outside shooter and will open up the inside even more so they don't double-triple team Chad. When Chad gets squeezed - bad things happen. When he's open, he needs to shoot the ball!
I'd like to see a more uptempo, free flowing offense that we saw vs. Rhody and St. Joes. That's the most successful version of the Bonnies.
Has anyone seen Assa? I've been trying to find him........
Go Bonas!

Sometimes I wonder if people know anything about basketball
Assa was the leading rebounder in a game against the leagues top rebounding team
Rebounding in the 2nd half was why we were able to come back and win that one. But yeah “where was he?”

Bonawolf… can we please add “and Chuck” to your chant?
Need to get Mika and Chuck more shots. Mika 45% from deep… Chuck 41%. Both can get to the rim and both shooting better than 82% from the line.
They both take around 8 to 9 shots per game. I know they are not high-volume shooters but look at these numbers from other recent Bona guards/wings.
Posley 15 shots per game (senior year) Mobley 13 shots per game (junior + senior) Adams 13 shots per game (junior + senior) Stockard 12 shots (senior) Lofton 11 shots (frosh)
Dion Wright (forward) took 13 shots a game his senior year. Mika and Chuck are elite shooters who need to shoot more.

But yeah “where was he?” He had a big offensive rebound late in the second half, too. But I think like others, I view his season as a pretty big disappointment thus far. His 3PT% is now under 30%.

Banks’ 3 at the buzzer at the end of the first half was huge.
I agree Pride can assert himself more on offense. I like that he is taking it to the rim more, that’s so needed with this team and he’s a good foul shooter when he gets to the line
