The NIT may be a reach. Don't forget there is the College Basketball Invitational and the College Basketball Insider. If the team gets any bid, they should go.

Agreed. Would love to see them play another game (or four)

The CBI would be ok if we had a young team, needing to play together to get better. This is an old team, I'd rather the money be spent on recruiting.

No shot at the NIT, which I would be all in for. Could do one of the others. I don’t really care about that, but maybe the rest of you do?

You are correct that the NIT is a non-starter. No way we get a bid. The CIT is worthless, and A10 teams aren't even eligible in any case. That leaves the CBI. Do you really want the school to pay north of $30,000 to host a game in the CBI? What's the value? If we had five freshman starters, all who have committed to return, I might consider it. Other than that, it's a preposterous waste of money.

NIT is a pipe dream after the St. Louis & GW losses. One small, small sliver of hope is that the teams in the major conferences that get asked bail out due to transfers and NIL money effects.

I am so ready to move on from this team this year! All good guys who played hard but they never gelled. It is a top 2 or 3 most disappointing season under Schmidt. Disputes between players and coach, schizophrenic play by the team and just generally not getting the most out of the talent on the team was so frustrating. I still don’t understand why Barry Evans wasn’t playing 30 mins a game but obviously I’m not the coach. Ready to move on!

Other than that, it's a preposterous waste of money. The CBI now has all its games at a single site (Daytona-FL). The participation entrance fee is $27.5k per each team (16). A total of $40k is distributed to the four semi-finalists.

If we make the NIT, it would be great to see Luc start at PG. It's still somewhat crazy that a guy that performed the way he did last season played the same amount as walk ons did in his junior campaign.

NO, NO, A THOUSAND TIMES, NO!
Bona has never and will never shell out dough for these inane pay to play tournaments. They're nothing more than resume' and stat padders for coaches and players, respectively.
It's the NCAA or NIT. Period.

We lost to UCF and Michael Jordan’s son. But I agree especially with an older team a tournament like that doesn’t give us much value.

LUC has to be very disappointed.
His mins dwindled throughout the season. His lack of playing time was dictated by his performances.
His FG% 32, TREY % 21, 22As/19TOs for a very poor 1.15 A/TO ratio for a PG was abysmal.
We are following lots of players. A top priority should be a PG. I would like to see a PG that hits the TREY and attacks the rim dishing when needed to bigs or open shooters beyond the arc. Doesn't everyone!
MIKA was the #2 TREY shooter (46%) in the A10. He didn't take the # of TREYS I was hoping for. He was left hand dominant almost always looking to penetrate the left side and never finished with his off hand (I may have missed one but doubt it). A small % of his drives resulted in dish offs for assists.
Our recruiting has relied on PSA in recent years. They have a down team this season so our attention has had wide sweeping approach.
Forming new squads has changed dramatically. Our staff must have a good sense of our remaining eligible players and recruit accordingly. I don't think they will be caught by surprise as they were with the iron 5 group.
I wish the staff lots of success in the "Fourth Season."
Go Bonnies!
