Thoroughly enjoyed the IOWA/LSU game. Caitlyn's long distance shooting and passing skills are head shaking incredible. A joy to watch by anyone with an appreciation of basketball unless they only enjoy a game played above the rim.

Important to remember in the new "wild wild west" of NCAA sports. NIL $ does not need to stop when a player declares for the pros. They are marketing contracts that players are now allowed to have in college, instead of waiting to turn pro. I am sure that all of (for example) CC's marketing contracts state that they follow her, as long as she is playing basketball and in the limelight, no matter where she is. Same with any other player with significant NIL contracts with national companies. Now for "next tier" contracts, that might be closely aligned with a region or a school, that could be different. Collectives $ I believe is tied to playing for a specific school. So that is one reason alot of potential 3rd round or later NFL players may stay in school - they dont have the big NIL contracts, but their other sources of income are significant enough to stay with the college $ for another year. Also read an article where basketball coaches referred to the NIL as "Now It's Legal" $ - no more back alley car deals, cash payouts when nobody is looking, etc.

Who says the NIT doesn't mean anything?
The final between Indiana State and Seton Hall has been terrific. Historic Hinkle Fieldhouse abuzz. At times, fever-pitch.
Sycamores just went bananas with an 8-0 run punctuated by a brilliant lane assist and two deep logo layups. Under 4, up 7. Seton Hall has been equally goid, trading punches the entire game. But do the Pirates have enough in them to rally late?
Really good flow. Tune in!

77-all, 58 sec. Hall meets the challenge. This has all the looks of overtime.

Wild flurry at the horn, but Pirates hold on 79-77. Reminded me of Bona's '77 title thriller over Houston. Riveting!

Who says the NIT doesn't mean anything? I hear there were a few Bona players 2-1/2 weeks ago who felt the NIT was meaningless… just saying.

And those guys were ignorant and clueless, sorry to say. Just as well they're moving on.

Is that the FINAL story now ? The players didn't want to play ?
Players bad / Coach good - move on people.
Nothing to see here ...

UConn 32-26 on Iowa at half. Nika Muhl has been the story. Her glue-like D has flummoxed CC (0/6 from 3, 3/11 overall, all layups). And she equaled CC'S pt total with a pair of treys.
The Hawkeyes have to also get Martin going (3 pt).
SCAR blew away NC State after the break, rolled by 19. Watkins w 20 boards, and the Gamecocks depth wore down the Wolfpack.

Iowa scraps and scrapes their way past UConn 71-69 to reach 2nd straight NCAA women’s final.
Stuelke was the recipient of some nifty CC passes and controlled the lane for a game-high 23 pts. CC w 15 2nd half pts, also 9 reb, 7 ast. Martin hit some clutch shots in crunch time.
Bueckers a quiet 17 pts shared Huskies scoring high w Edwards. UConn kept the pressure on until waning seconds when Edwards was called for illegal screen, questionable.
It was uber-physical in 2nd half. Iowa will need to maintain that and bring D one more time to hang w South Carolina.

I thought the call on the screen was legit. It's one of those calls that gets made earlier in the game with no questions asked. It seldom gets made with the clock winding down late - but it should be.
She not only slid to her left - but she also extended her arms and caught the IOWA girl up high - directly in front of the official. Great game overall. UCONN played great D on Clark. Martin stepped up and made some huge buckets late for IOWA. Caitlin didn't panic and try to do too much - but there were situations where I thought she could or would have. She had faith in her teammates to step up and they absolutely did.
That being said - South Carolina will be real tough to beat. The sheer physical match-ups favor the bigger & deeper Gamecocks. IOWA & CC will need to play their A+ game to win.

Absolutely the right call on the illegal screen.
Dunno if Iowa has the personnel to stay with SCAR. Fulwiley and Feagin could start for any other P6 team but they are integral to the Gamecocks' 2nd unit, averages close to 40 a game.
CC will have to go off like last year's game. Stuelke played great vs UConn but a matchup with Cardoso at 6-7 will be a tall task indeed.
