If the Bonnies didn’t get a chance at a game winning shot because of that call in an early December game against Southern Indiana, this board would have an epic meltdown spread over at least 6 separate threads.
For that call to deny UConn a shot is shameful.

Absolutely the right call on the illegal screen.
Dunno if Iowa has the personnel to stay with SCAR. Fulwiley and Feagin could start for any other P6 team but they are integral to the Gamecocks' 2nd unit, averages close to 40 a game.
CC will have to go off like last year's game. Stuelke played great vs UConn but a matchup with Cardoso at 6-7 will be a tall task indeed.

Folks, I have to admit I'm bored to tears with the men's FF in Glendale. What must it be like for the folks in the way back and up yonder?
No buzz at all. Conversely, the ladies have put on a good show so far and am looking forward to SCAR-Iowa and CC's final collegiate game.

Yeah ... The men's Final Four was anti-climactic to say the least. The UCONN / PURDUE match-up was a foregone conclusion when the breackets came out. That being said - the early rounds down to the Elite 8 were a great watch (IMO).
As for coaches - 2 Bonabandwagon "LOVE to HATE" guys, Hurley and Dambrot, have both proven to be pretty damn good at their craft (to the certain dismay of a few posters). Of course, "Travisty" Ford getting ousted at St. Louis gave several posters some twisted satisfaction to savor. Hahahaha ...

Most of the guys I know who are college basketball fans feel the same way.

You think Iowa and CC are ready for today's final? Holy moly the Hawkeyes are out of the blocks in a flash.
Clark appears poised for a huge game, and all teammates are involved. SCAR can peck away with the depth they have.
This game has classic overtones.

Iowa 27-20 after 1. Clark w 18, incl a trey over the 6-7 Cardoso from Euclid.
SCAR has warmed up. Milaysia Fulwiley. Remember that name. Instant bench offence.

After 49-46 SCAR halftime lead, 6-0 Gamecock run to open 2nd half. Danger time for Iowa bc SCAR has dictated tempo and controlled boards from 2nd qtr on.

Tom, I dare UConn and Purdue to match the intensity of this women's final.

68-59 SCAR after 3. Tessa Johnson is a freshman, like Fulwiley? Yoi. It appears Dawn Staley has built a MACHINE of the UConn/Tenn. order.

Too bad - Bully ball wins again. It's that style of basketball that makes the woman's game unwatchable (for me anyway). I wanted to see Caitlin and the physically out matched Hawkeyes win with a smooth passing up-tempo style of play, creating open looks - but it wasn't in the cards for them.
They came out on fire and kept it close - but I knew they were in trouble midway thru the 3rd when CC drove on 2 consecutive trips. She was ridden by her defender all the way to the hoop (and all game for that matter), pump faked the defender into the air - created contact on the shot - but no CALL (both trips)...
It was like her game was too advanced for the level of officiating in the women's game. Then we had to watch Staley cry about the few calls that were actually made.
South Carolina was able to play volleyball on the offensive glass all game and impose their will on IOWA. The game was like watching a kid playing his big brother in the driveway, giving up 6 inches and 50 lbs. Big bro backing him down close enough to get up a 3 footer off the glass over and over. Take nothing away from South Carolina - they did what they had to do to win. It's just not a good watch for me to see Bully Ball win out over finesse - which is what this was (IMO)).

Congrats to S Carolina. They controlled play after halftime and fended off several Iowa rallies.
Gamecocks ran the table, 38-0. Iowa and CC can walk proud and stand tall. Just one rung from the summit two years straight.

Tom, I dare UConn and Purdue to match the intensity of this women's final. They will. Comments like these are silly. We can enjoy both without comparing them.
