The university has a big announcement coming up sometime today. Even the Friary is unaware of what the news is.

I love the expanded use of the block B and the cursive Bonnies. I have mixed feelings about the wolf. It's not super different of course but it takes some getting used to.

SBUnfurled is probably crying right now because he didn’t get to design it.

A landmark, watershed , a very Wolfy wolf, and chockablock blocky letters… truly transformational!

The enchanted mountains one looks rough, I get what they were trying to do, but it looks like the Egyptian pyramids or a stock chart falling.

Bob is off to a great start energizing the department. Now they need to update the staff directory to add his name.
Next order of business would be to get adidas to dump the black and grey uniforms they push us to wear.

After seeing how Davidson butchered their rebrand, I'm happy with what I've seen from the rebrand. I think the new wolf logo isn't all that different, but it does look better.
If you weren't familiar with SBU, you'd never know that mountain logo was a mountain.

Does anyone else see the nod to the adidas logo with the hilll/mountain logo?

Who can account for taste. I actually like whatever it is the watermark that mountains over Bonnie’s or Saint Bonaventure maybe it needs some work but I just like the feel I think that’s something we’ve not been able to capture. I mean, we all know about it something we’ve not been able to capture past so that’s my two cents.

I'm sorry but that's hardly re-energized.
From when I attended the school until today I have not been happy with the school's mascot branding. I always felt a bit uncomfortable with the "Brown" Indians. I did enjoy the student mascot who dressed as a warrior chief. With the war dances and leading the cheering, emophasizing being on the warpath could really jack up the scene and was an appropriate version of Native Americana befitting the fighting efforts we sought from our teams at the games. I felt that teams having to give up indian mascots for some perceived racial reason was woke and unnecessary. I think that the majority of Native Americans took pride in teams having the fighting nature of having an Indian, Warrior, etc. as a mascot. But that's just me. I realize that the pressure to give up Indians as mascots was too strong to resist, but IMO our school has struggled with our mascot identity ever since. I never bought into the wolf. If you want re-energizing and you're sticking with a wolf, come up with a better, stronger, meaner more powerful wolf depiction. Almost no appreciable change in the appearance of the wolf logo, they made the head a bit more prominent than the school name, the ears encroach on the name a bit, no other real change. It's still a cartoon looking depiction. Also in St. Bonaventure legend the wolf was brought to submission by prayers of our patron saint. Not an appropriate mascot for competitive teams, IMHO.
I like St. Bonaventure, or St. Bonas, or Bonas. But I apologize, in my redneck conservative opinion, referring to our teams as "Bonnies". or "the Bonnies" has no meaning, and is a bit gay and soft, frankly. Here come the Bonnies hardly striking fear in the hearts of our opponents.
I kind of like the mountain silhouette above the school name design. More meaningful to us than to outsiders, perhaps but serves as a reminder of the beauty of our school, and would result in the opportunity to explain the enchanted mountains to any outsider who asked me about my sweatshirt design. I also like the classic Ivy league type nature of the black capital B. But if asked, I'd vote for opening up the idea of developing a different mascot.

SBUnfurled is probably crying right now because he didn’t get to design it. SBU unfurled does some really good design work. So, why would you try to put him down? I bet you feel really good right now!!!!!
