A few interesting things to look forward to in Alfred Game. Following are results from the last 3 years.
1) "Starting lineup" starting lineup in last 3 Alfred games was also the starters for 1st regular season game.
2) "Reserves coming in at 15 minute mark" in the last 2 years, Schmidt substituted 3 or more players at 15 minute mark. Last season 4 reserves came in at 15 minute mark. In the next game all 4 had the most minutes of any player on the bench. Previous year, had 3 players coming in at 15 minute mark. Again all 3 would have seen the most minutes off the bench, except Moses was injured for the next game.
3) "Leading scorer" game's leading scorer probably doesn’t mean much. Last 3 Alfred games had following players as leading scorers; Moses 12 points, Daryl 18, and Linton 19. Daryl was the only one, who led the team in scoring for that season.
2 exceptions to the above.
— 3 years ago, Kyle didn’t play in Alfred game. Injury? He was replaced by Quadry in the starting lineup.
— In Chad’s 1st season it took 4 games, before he became a starter. During Alfred game he was one of the last reserves to enter the game (Max entered game before Chad). Was he being punished by Schmidt for being out of shape for practices?
** Linton Brown’s season with the Bonnies is a big mystery. A starter for the Alfred game (was leading scorer) and starter for 1st regular season game against Siena. Then he played just 9 games and averaged 3.0 ppg and shot 20% from 3s. At Coastal Carolina he played in 29 games, averaged 8.6 ppg and shot a solid 37% from 3s. Was it COVID, which ruined his season at Bona?
Tomorrow night we should have a good idea of starting lineup and top reserves.
