Our players better not let these comparison #s create over confidence. They won't get them a bucket or a rebound.

just bought 2 tix. Person I spoke with told me he had been at his job for over a year, and never had so many requests for tix from an opposing school till Bonas! He told me he is very interested in hearing/seeing what the crowd looks like. He said they are expecting a big crowd for opening nite.

Cassian - I think you are correct but since we haven't put much of Brown's O on tape this year, my thinking is we start by going inside to him, see if they can stop him, then either continue feeding him or have him find the open shooter. If so, I hope your prediction of "shooting will be better" is correct and we can establish a mid-first half lead and maintain it. We don't need the drama of a tight game on the road. Our three point shooting should be rounding into place right about now - Moore's already appears to have and that's a good place to start - with Council, Hinton and Bowen on the cusp.
Dadster - it will be interesting to see their players' reaction if you and friends can either turn around or blunt their expected home crowd advantage. It should come as a dispiriting moment for them. Make it happen - I wish I was going to be there to help, but I will instead watch and count on you and the others in attendance. GO BONNIES

Seems like we are making Kellman out to be Drummond or something - Brown will need to neutralize him, then we attack over and over again and pull away - shooting will be better Jeez. No kidding. I thought we were playing Zion Williamson tonight. He looks to be a good player but he's averaged 9 pts a game in his career and his high shooting % looks to be padded with dunks and layups. Hopefully our team will be better than his team tonight.

These comments are very debatable “I thought we were playing Zion Williamson tonight. He looks to be a good player but he's averaged 9 in his career” and “Brown will need to neutralize him.” Kellman’s career “9 pts a game” is a perfect example of the development of a raw big man. Here is his career point per game averages 3, 5, 8, 12 and now 16.5 ppg, while hitting 79% of his shots. The 9 ppg is very misleading. I’ll be thankful if we can keep Kellman close to his average. And Kellman does NOT get all of his points off dunks. Videos show he has a nice baby hook shot and strong back to the basket game on the low blocks. It is a result of his development since scoring 3 points as a freshman.
“Brown neutralize him” is a big concern. Noel has faced just 1 center, who was a double digit scorer. It was against D-3 Alfred and he had 4 fouls in just 15 minutes of PT. Noel struggled with Alfred’s big man, it is very worrisome with him being matched up with Kellman. A weakness of Noel since becoming a Bonnie, is committing fouls. Fouling wasn’t a problem last year as a backup, but it is different now with Noel being the starter and especially tonight with him defending Kellman.
I agree with Big Cat with doubling down on Kellman being a mistake. Last thing the Bonnies need is giving open 3s to players, who have a history of being good 3 point shooters. FGCU getting hot from 3s would be a disaster.
FGCU has potential of hitting 3s. Last season’s 3 point shooting percentages; Muniz 34.9%, Duax 55% and there is a reason why Johnson loves shooting 3s as he made an exceptional 39.1% of them last season. Then add Rory who is hitting 38.5% this season and like Johnson he loves shooting 3s. It is better to let Kellman earn his point rather than having scoring from both inside and outside

We will all get to see him play tonight. But, come on, he has averaged 8.9 points. 4.9 rebounds and less than 1 blocked shot a game over a 82 game career. 82 games. The 8.9 ppg is not very misleading. He's averaging 16 pts over 2 games. I'm much more concerned with our ability to stop this team from killing us with three pointers, which always seems to be our achilles heel. Having said that, watch Kellman go for 25 and 12 tonight.

I don’t see us running the offense through Noel. He’s a role player on the offensive end. Schmidt gives him a few looks now and then but he’s not going to be a volume scorer.
Noel is great at what he does best … use muscle, fight for every board, set mean-ass screens, be a strong/physical presence on D, get a few buckets and make FTs. He’s perfect for this new group!!
Schmidt said in one of his interviews he expects Noel to be a double double guy. My interpretation is 12 and 10 … with the offensive boards contributing to his scoring.
We have 5 or 6 legit offensive threats … Moore, Council, Jones, Hinton, Bowen, Thompson. Noah hasn’t found his best role yet. Same with Edwards. I don’t see Noel getting the same iso post plays that we saw with Chad last year.
Coach loves points in the paint. Chad was our only good option last year — but he was easy to control with double teams that got ugly at times. This year we have several slashers and more athleticism. Totally different make up. Hopefully these guys continue to progress and mesh.

I like our D early on. We are getting our hands on their passes, which has resulted in some hard and wild throws and is disrupting their O. Moore also looks “ engaged,” or at least going steady. Also looking good on the boards again. This color announcer on the Plus is already getting on my nerves.
