Interesting comment from FGCU announcer. He pointed out with the portal FGCU has taken a different approach than the Bonnies. He stated majority of schools are like Schmidt and recruit older veteran transfers. FGCU has used this as an opportunity to recruit freshmen, which they would not have a shot at prior to the portal. Freshman, Darren Williams a Two-Time First-Team All-State from Pennsylvania is an excellent example.

The Athletic Department shared a GREAT video of Jim Baron and Essie Hollis visiting the players in the locker room after the game. Baron and Hollis' message was to stick together and develop a brotherhood. And that there's no better place to do that than here with Bonas. Hollis had a funny comment saying he's glad he didn't have to go up against "that big boy" (I'm guessing he pointed to Noel) KC, can that video with Essie and Jim be found online? They're from my year and would like to see. I’m not KC gold but I did see the video as I was browsing through my Bleacher Report app

And thanks guys for talking to the new crop of Bonnies and teaching them to understand, appreciate and participate in the special place that is Bonaventure and the family of the current team as part of the extended family going back decades. Schmidt understands and has to be credited with passing that onto these guys. Hopefully understanding their part in our history will stay with them through the end of the season and play a part of their decision-making about their future.
