from: lfballonhoops.blogspot.com/Saturday, August 29, 2009 Weekend Tidbits Corey Chandler Well, very soon we will know Corey Chandlers destination. I have an idea where but I will wait and let those who love to be first with information to announce it. Both final schools have alot to offer him. But what he needs most is structure, a sense of feeling very wanted and needed, and an opportunity to be away, but not so far he cannot get home to see family. I just hope he knows and understands it is better to be loved than just wanted and needed for basketball. This choice is the last one! NO MISTAKES! ----- the above sounds more like SBU than Binghamton! )

"Corey Chandler The schools listed for Corey Chandler makes it seem he has limited options. Not the case! I spoke with 1 BE assistant who mentioned he wish they could get him but the rules makes it impossible. As far as I know, he has SMU, Siena, Maybe Kansas State, Binghamton, Iona is interested, St. Bonaventure, and more. I honestly feel he would be perfect at Binghamton replacing DJ Rivera and Tiki Mabry when they graduate this season. Corey could average 25 points a game in that sold out arena that holds 5400 fans." He can't honestly believe that Broadnax (sp?) and the BU program is more structured, can he? Chandler is much more "needed" at BU then SBU!!! And who is going to show him more love then the enchanted mountains???

Its Broadus, and Binghamton also offers a chance to be away from Jersey, however BU draws heavily from the NYC metro area so it may not give him a chance to get away really. I would think if we don't have a scholarship and BU does we will be on the outside looking in on this one. He can be the man at BU, I don't think that will be the case at Bonas so it will be up to him.

The posters of the America East Conference message board certainly knows it. Check out the lively debate on their board about Binghmaton recruiting Corey Chandler. Terrier Nation writes the following, " I might be okay with one of these types once in a blue moon under the right circumstances, but you folks make a habit of taking players with questionable backgrounds. I think I would start to get upset if that was the case. And Bing fans will continue to get bashed for it by the other fans until the pattern, well stops being a pattern." This one from a Phyr a Binghmaton fan "Most poster don't like Broadus on this forum except the Bing fans. Everyone was predicting that Binghamton basketball would implode when he started recruiting kids like Mayben, Alvin, Rivera, and Davis. Most of these arguments that you are making have been argued ad nauseum over the last season. If I was a UA fan, I would probably detest Broadus as well. BINGHAMTON UNITE!" www.basketballforum.com/america-east-conference/431142-4-star-recruit-dismissed-rutgers-bing-benefit-2.htmlHave to believe LFballonhoops is referring to the Bonnies, when considering Kevin Broadus well known reputation of recruiting talented basketball players who are in need of second chances. I'm all for players receiving second chances, but you can't have an entire starting lineup of players with questionable backgrounds. After all just a few months ago Malik Alvin was caught stealing rubbers from a WalMart and injuring an elderly woman. Kevin Broadus seems more concern about wins than the social aspects of his program.

Is Binghamton a good place for Corey? Check out this article from the New York Times (link below). Here is a part of the article: But how they got here, and whether it is all worth seeing Binghamton’s name pop up on CBS on Selection Sunday, has led many on campus to wonder at what cost the university has pursued big-time mens basketball. The Bearcats have endured several arrests and suspensions since the 2007 hiring of Coach Kevin Broadus. A former Georgetown assistant, he is known for recruiting good players with questionable backgrounds. www.nytimes.com/2009/02/22/sports/ncaabasketball/22binghamton.html?_r=2&scp=3&sq=binghamton%20university%20basketball&st=cse

I know a Bingo cop well. He tells me there are lots of displaced NYC people living there & drug activity is far greater than Olean.

Njbona you just love the fact that you can go through security 10 minutes before the flight takes off and your luggage is right there when you get off the plane.

The Binghamton Airport is named after the man that developed the "Link Trainer", the first flight simulator.

I have only been to that airport one time and I was not feeling well. It was a rough flight on the twin prop plane. But seriously. We need Corey. He is better off in the enchanted mountains than he is in that cesspool of BInghamton. (My apologies to those who live there)

from: lfballonhoops.blogspot.com/Sunday, August 30, 2009 Corey Chandler
In case folks did not know, I heard from a coach on Saturday afternoon who informed me Corey Chandler will attend Binghamton. Great move by Corey because he will step right into a starting spot in two seasons and average around 20 points a game for 2 years. And for folks who do not know, Binghamton is one of the top academic colleges in America with some serious fan support in a beautiful 5000 plus seat on campus arena. I just knew everyone would know by now but maybe not!

As much as I wanted him here. I just didn't think we had a shot with what Binghamton could offer him playing time/role/ etc...
