If the Bonnies sign Willis Nicholson, they'll have Big Nickel and Little Nickel on the team!

Just learned yesterday that Bona Florida target Will Sheehey ,has blown up big time. Many folks down here believe him to now be top 5 in the state. Obviously, the array of schools looking for his services is expanding daily. A large part of this is the fact that the kid has a really good offensive game ,but he also plays tenacious D on the other side of the ball. This is a very complete player, one of the best in a long line of terrific Florida athletes. Too bad for the Bonnies that Sheehey "has blown up big time" on the AAU circuit. Sheehey is now ranked 131 on Rivals most current top 150 list. As of August 4th, Bonnies and Northwestern were the only schools to offer Sheehey. Sir Elton on the Bevel posted "I'm hearing Sheehey has narrowed his schools to St. Bonaventure and Stanford." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewrank.asp?ra_key=1909http://************/forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2885

Melvin Ejim- Canadian stud. 6'6-205 @ Brewster Academy. ESPN recruiting service ranks him a 93 off his junior year performance. He is called by them" an absolute nightmare for opposing defenses". Quick, strong, leaper who can finish are all descriptive comments they use.Has a complete all around game. Competition will be tough , as usual, BC, Providence from Big East and Iowa State more than interested. We will need a Nicholson type signing here. Beauty of it is he could start for us nearly in his back yard and give his family the opportunity to watch him play often. This kid is a difference maker! Headed To Big 12 - Iowa State, Verbal

Add Anthony Ireland to our point guard watch list. A friend just e-mailed the info to me.
Ireland is exceptionally strong and fast with excellent leaping ability, big hands for a 6 foot point , can finish at the rim and is capable of hitting the J
Has been working on improving his handle as well as point guard distribution decisions.
We will see if he visits as it appears he likes us.

You will have to use your imagination for this one and trust in good things happening. Unfortunately more can't be said at this point. Another visit to take place, possibly this weekend. Roster still not 100% finalized Two very special friends to visit together in third week of September. Any combination of the above that becomes a permanent reality places the Bonnie's at a much improved level. Sorry for the ambiguity on this one.

www.fiveborosports.com/ssp/news?news_id=3806Russ Smith 6-0 PG Molloy! The former Stanner will start his post-graduate year at South Kent (Conn.) next month. Unlike most players who go to prep school, Smith is qualified and has plenty of interest from college. He has other reasons for prepping. “I’m qualified, but I know what I need to work on,” Smith said. … “I have to get stronger. I want to go to college and have an impact.” The prolific scoring guard said he has interest from Stanford, Virginia, Louisville, St. John’s, Auburn, Houston, LaSalle and St. Bonaventure. NICE LIST!

NICE LIST! some comments and reply on the LFBALL Blog: www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6508200033145514208&postID=4805440894389831292 LFBall said... Lastly about St. Bonnies. One of my close almost family members called to ask if their grand daughter should attend the school. Guess who gave you guys a great endorsement? So when Cyndra Couch suits up for your womens team this season, think about me lol. Copenhagen said. She sounds like a great player, good student and should make a fine addition not only to the "Lady Bonnies the Bonnies Mens Team is looking real hard for a PG of the future like Russell Smith or Eli Carter. ) LFBall said... Sure........Keep dreaming about Russ Smith lol. He has the big boys all over him. By the way, Rutgers and others tried to get Ms. Couch late but her Grand Father made her stick to who liked her when no one else did. You guys are very attractive to the right prospect. Great support and nice facilities on a nice campus with a solid academic rep. Many kids being recruited by BE will fall to A10 level now or as transfers. Your school is a great option for them

Sniper Setting Up Visits by Dave Telep of Scout.com, September 1, 2009 at 3:09pm ET
Keegan Hyland Profile
Need a shooter? How about heading up to Maine, it’s beautiful this time of the year. South Portland High is home to 6-foot-4 sniper Keegan Hyland. The senior wing is a dedicated craftsman, getting in 1,000 makes a day. “Some days I’ll go less, some days I’ll go more,” Hyland said.
Last Friday he visited Vermont unofficially and he’s heading to William & Mary Sept. 12 for an official. Over 20 schools have offered. Rhode Island and Elon are next up on the visit list. Wright State called and has made an impression.
Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Northeastern, Holy Cross, Boston U., Columbia, Quinnipiac, Rhode Island, Fordham and St. Bonaventure have shown interest.
“I might take an official to Vermont, Northeastern’s in the mix and Fordham too. Wright State talked a good game.”
Last year Hyland scored 28 points a game and shot it over 40 percent from downtown.

Area Guard Prospect Lands Scholarship Offer
By Mike Sullivan Publisher Posted Sep 4, 2009
Reporter Mike Sullivan has an update on the status of Danny Lawhorn, a guard prospect who is now open in his recruiting process. Lawhorn recently secured a scholarship offer ...
Danny Lawhorn, a 5-foot-10 guard from Hartford, Connecticut, stated that St. Bonaventure has now offered him a scholarship. Lawhorn also told us that Villanova has jumped into his recruiting process. This comes after he reversed his commitment to Boston College.
"I'm still open," he said.
Lawhorn, who is heading to South Kent on September 9th, is also thinking about reclassifying to the class of 2011, giving him a couple of seasons to improve his individual game.
Danny said he's also interested in Fordham, Baylor, Rutgers, Fairfield, St. Pete
