Does anyone happen to know anything about Chris Secky? Are we looking at him? Can he play in the A-10? Is he looking to play bball or football at the next level? Thanks.

Swede - he's class of 2011. But he looks like a good kid to be in early on. With Harvard on his list, I assume he's a good student.

This may be noteworthy. Rutgers has over recruited Dane Miller already. I know many Bona faithful like this young man.
Fred Hill, resident genius at RU has a 2011 commitment from 6'6 SF Andrew Nicholas from Pennsylvania.
Could be another interesting possible transfer scenario!

Regarding Philadelphia point guard Joey Gripper(2011) he is predominantly left handed. What is the deal with that? Do we have the market cornered for all Div.1 lefties?
It does make it interesting as teams practice a certain way to stop penetration from a predominant right handed offensive set, and we are the reverse. Might be worth 2-3 easy lay- ins per game as a result.

also from the zagsblog that gave the D. Williams report, here is new of a Bona PG target:
**First off, Frantz Massenat, a 2010 guard from Trenton Catholic, committed to Drexel on Wednesday. Jerian Grant, a 6-4 shooting guard from DeMatha (Md.), committed to Notre Dame.
-----
from Northstarball blog:
Frantz Massenat's commitment to Drexel will not get as much national attention as Grant's pledge to Notre Dame will, but the 6'3 point guard from Trenton Catholic (NJ) is a big get for the Dragons. The news, which was broken by Northstar Basketball via Twitter, came soon after Massenat's in-home visit with Head Coach Bruiser Flint and Assistant Coach Mike Connors. What led the Garden State star to his decision? "Well, the fact that I didn't want to go far away [and I] wanted my parents to watch me play [was big. It has] . . . good academics [and] . . . good basketball [at] a good level. I can play against good players. [Bruiser Flint is] . . . a good coach and he has a good history. . . . a coach that can push me. People say he's hard to play for, but I've played for tough coaches my whole life."
Before picking the CAA school, Massenat also seriously considered Boston University, Princeton, Rider, and Niagara. "Those were the five that I really cut everything down to." Frantz told me that he "really just wanted to say thank you to [all the] coaches that recruited" him. Asked when he made up his mind, Massenat stated, "I think it was when I had more understanding of the school. It would better me for basketball and is a top [school] in the country for academics. . . . After my visit and after my talk with the coaches ."
Massenat, who is the eighth player in New Jersey's class of 2010 to commit (he is the fifth to pick a school in Pennsylvania), was excited to have his choice in the rear view mirror. "It actually feels good. I always knew I wanted to make the decision before my high school season and go in with no worries. It feels god to know I made a good decision and have it off my chest."
this the 2nd time that Drexel has beat us out for a guard we targeted, a few years ago it was Gerald Colds., after reading the lastest .... we can assume that we weren't involved.... maybe we had bigger fish targeted?
also:
**Neumann-Goretti guard Tyreek Duren will take an official to Temple this weekend and will also visit La Salle (9/18) and UMass (9/26).
I thought we were also after him...

Could this be a visitor and a mystery guest this week?
If so, Maurice Jones all 5'6-165lbs of him is a human jet and the second coming of Marques Green. Last year he only averaged 27ppg. He is compact but very well built. The similarities to Marques are uncanny.
Nobody will catch this kid plus we have an illustrious history and experience with height challenged Point Guards.
My guess is he along with Derrick Williams are exceptionally high priorities.

Brian Voelkel of Iona Prep (NY) had a lot of people talking during the summer circuit due to his outstanding play with the Westchester Hawks. "Right now I have eight offers, but it's between Manhattan, Vermont, Stony Brook, and Robert Morris," remarked Voelkel. The other schools that have extended scholarship offers are Canisius, Central Connecticut State, St. Bonaventure, and Iona. Asked if the first four were the only ones he is considering, Brian responded, "If others come into the picture I will consider them, but at this point it's between them."

UMass 6-foot-9 big man Tyrell Lynch has left school and will transfer elsewhere. Lynch was signed by Travis Ford and averaged 3.7 points and 3.6 rebounds last season for first-year head man Derek Kellogg. It was likely that Lynch had fallen behind Sean Carter, a transfer from Oregon State, and Memphis transfer Hashim Bailey.
Probably end up at Niagara. Lynch is a redshirt sophomore.

Bonnies have also offered Danny Lawhorn, 5'10PG at South Kent School.Currently recruiting him are Nova, B.C., Maryland and several other bigs. We are the only offer he has, but he is being classified as a very late bloomer who caught fire this summer.

here is news of another recruit we had apparent interest in:
In news that was broken on Saturday morning by Northstar Basketball via twitter, Kyheim Hall '10 of Pocono Mountain East (PA) has made his college decision. According to his high school coach Patrick Heaton,
Hall, a sturdy combo guard, has committed to St. Francis (PA). Hall did not list the Red Flash when I spoke to him at The Hoop Group Elite Team Camp in mid-July, so it is possible the NEC made a strong push of late. Again, Kyheim Hall has committed to St. Francis (PA).

Shaq Duncan '10, Frankford (PA), Team NJABC: Ht: 6-8 Wt: 190 Position: C, PF Year: Class of 2010 AAU Team: Team Phenom/Team NJABC High School: Frankford HS (Philadelphia, PA) Drexel, Robert Morris, LSU, Fairfield, George Mason, Arkansas- LittleRock, Quinnipiac, Nebraska, Siena,St. Francis (NY), Temple, La Salle,Virginia Tech, UConn, Florida, St. Peter's,Memphis, Providence,Niagara, St. Bonaventure, Virginia Commonwealth, St.John's, and Iona Offers: Drexel, Robert Morris, Fairfield, George Mason, Nebraska, St. Francis(NY),Temple, La Salle, St. Bonaventure, Virginia Commonwealth, and Iona Favorites: "I'm wide open." Notes-Duncan said that he is considering doing a post-grad year upon completing high school, which he would do at TAG Academy (FL). Why is that? "Because when I go to school I don't want to waste their time. I want to come in and contribute. . . . work on my game." The reason that TAG Academy is the choice is because of his relationship with the father LaSalle-bound Parish Grant '09, who suggested it to Duncan.
Shaq Duncan (2010, 6-8 PF)
Hoop Group Elite Camp: Shaq strung together a very fine outing. Guarded by a slow footed seven footer, Shaq took full advantage. He used his agility to get by his man and finish around the rim. He's fluid and adjusts well in traffic even when the help defense got there or his man tried to recover. He went to the opposite side of the hoop time and time again. Shaq handles the ball well and used short and quick drives. He ran the floor well too. He rarely took any jumpers and didn't post up much. He found what was working and stuck to it. BREAKING NEWS!!! Shaq Duncan Sets Presser, Expected to Pick Niagaraby Alex Schwartz Shaq Duncan '10 of Frankford (PA), a 6'9 center, has made his college decision. The Keystone State standout will be holding a press conference at 2:00pm tomorrow, Wednesday, to announce his school choice. Duncan has received interest and offers from schools at all levels, from low-major to high-major. The big man is expected to be picking a school right in the middle. According to multiple sources, Shaq Duncan will be pledging to Niagara. The MAAC school will be getting a long and athletic low post player who blocks shots, throws down crowd pleasing dunks, and has a high ceiling as a prospect. Some of the schools that expressed interest in Duncan, and many of which offered, include Virginia Commonwealth, Iona, George Mason, Nebraska, Robert Morris, Fairfield, Memphis, and Drexel. Once again, in news being first reported by Northstar Basketball, Shaq Duncan is expected to commit to Niagara at a 2:00pm press conference on Wednesday.
