It has been a long time since I posted as BJIA, so I have a modified handle now of BJIF having moved from Atlanta to Florida. Some of you will remember me as being very active on the recruiting front.
I have listed these 2010 targets for your enjoyment to follow. Some are common names, several are new, and known to only a few. Have fun, and let's see if the staff can bring two or three special talents to the Bonnie's in the must have early signing period in the fall.
1. Will Adams 6'3 2G Imhotep Charter, PA. 2. Tyreek Duren 5'10PG Neumann-Goretti,PA. 3. Tyrone Garland(V) 6'1 PG Bartram PA. 4. Tyree Johnson 5'9 PG Penn Wood PA. 5. Patrick Konan 6'5 SG The Rock School,FL. 6. Davon Marshall 5'10PG Niagara Falls,N.Y. 7. Deshon Minnis 6'2 PG S.Philly H.S..PA. 8. Willis Nicholson 5'10PG Cherokee, N.J. 9. Myron Respress 6'7 PF Niagara Falls, N.Y. 10. Kendall Smith 6'4 2G Thomas More, MD. 11. Derrick Williams 6'6 PF St.Anthony's, N.J. 12. Alex Bates 6'8 PF E. Roosevelt, MD. 13. Daveon Broadingham 6'7 PF Shabazz, N.J. 14. Will Sheehey 6'6 2G Florida 15. Elijah Pittman 6'7 PF Kentucky
As I stated earlier, most of these names are out there in the general public. One of the reasons I stopped posting long ago was the mean spirited nature of several people.
This comment is directed to the individual who thinks he must inform the Rhode Island Head Coach of every Bonaveture recruit. The last time I looked, he was getting paid great money and should be recruiting on his own. How about letting him discover and recruit his own talent?

these are the posts I enjoy, thanks!
some additional names:
- Jordan Manuel, SF Indianapolis (IN) Howe AAU: Eric Gordon All-Stars Ht: 6-foot-9 Wt: 190 lbs GPA: 3.0 Class: 2010 (High School)
-----
- Taevaunn Prince 6-3 215lbs '10, Proctor Academy (NH), Team Takeover Canada:
UW-Green Bay, St. Bonaventure, Virginia Tech, Baylor, St. Joseph's, and Duquesne Offers: UW-Green Bay and St. Bonaventure Favorite: "I'm liking UW-Green Bay. They're showing me the most love right now."
-----
- Marquis Gentry 6-8 216 '11, Ballou (DC), God's Glory:
San Jose State and St. Bonaventure Offers: None Favorite: San Jose State
The player who stood out to me—and some DI assistants as well—as a sleeper in the event was Marquis Gentry '11 from Ballou (DC), who was running with God's Glory. The 6'8 big man checks in at 216 pounds, and has a great frame that can be improved upon even more. Gentry is long and active, blocking shots, and ferociously grabbing rebounds. Although he is still very raw and does not have much of an offensive game (the three box scores I saw from GG had him with 8, 2, and 0), he has the potential to become a dominant interior defender and looks to be at least a mid-major player, if not better.
-----
- Eli Carter 6-1 '10, St. Anthony's (NJ), Sports University:
Richmond, Rice, Rider, La Salle, Boston University, Virginia, St. Bonaventure, and Manhattan
Offers: Richmond, Rice, Rider, and St. Bonaventure Favorite: Richmond
Elijah Carter (2010, 6-1 PG/SG) This guard was among the best players on the day and without question saw his stock rise. Elijah fueled Sports University with an explosive eight three pointers. They were of both the catch and shoot variety and off the dribble. The lead guard has a super quick handle and he glides through the lane with ease. He had a number of finishes after attacking, including an old fashioned three point play as well as a scoop finish. Elijah mixed in a few nice passes too, but scoring was his forte on this day. He had one explosive outing.
-----
- Kyheim Hall 6-3 ’10, Pocono Mountain East (PA):
Boston University, St. Bonaventure, and Radford Offers: None Favorite: Boston University Dream School: None
Kyheim Hall (2010, 6-3 PG/SG) Kyheim had the best performance that we saw all tournament with a 34 point outburst in a win over nearby Reading High School. The physical lead guard is very aggressive. He has nice size and uses that to finish around the rim. He loves contact and gets to the line at an astonishing rate. Kyheim doesn't have an explosive burst, but is still quick with the ball in his hands and he displayed a fine crossover move as well. His body control is stellar and he plays under control for the most part. He's good at using hesitation moves too. He can run the floor as well as get to the rim in halfcourt sets.
Against a more disciplined Imhotep team, things weren't as easy for Kyheim. They doubled teamed him up top and swarmed him with multiple defenders. He doesn't setup his teammates that well, so he couldn't make the defense pay. He also had more trouble finishing inside against Imhotep's front line than he did against Reading. Imhotep's slow paced style took away his transition opportunities. Where he did have a chance to exploit the defense in that game was from the outside. Kyheim hit a pull up jumper and his shot looked smooth, but his attempts from the perimeter were rare. He'll play down low some too on the offensive end, but wasn't nearly as effective doing so in this contest when compared with the first outing.
It's a bit tough to see where he fits in at the next level. With his high school team, Kyheim is a point guard. To continue to play there, he really needs to improve as a passer. He has ideal size for a mid major shooting guard. The aggression and ability to create and finish is there, but jumper is still a huge question mark. All in all though, Kyheim is a fine player and without question he boosted his stock at this tournament.
-----
- Frantz Massenat 6-3 ’10, Trenton Catholic (NJ):
Rider,Iona, La Salle, Robert Morris, Drexel, William & Mary, Boston University,Fordham, Northeastern, St. Bonaventure, Penn State, Niagara, Lehigh, Princeton,Brown, Quinnipiac, UMass, Houston, Northern Iowa, Vermont, and North CarolinaA&T Offers: Rider, Iona, La Salle, Robert Morris, Drexel, William & Mary, Boston University, and Fordham Favorites: None Dream School: None
Frantz Massenat (2010, 6-3 PG/SG) Frantz had a solid outing. He's a steady point guard who does a good job running the offense. He hit a three pointer among his baskets. We left the contest early, but Frantz made some plays.

Jordan Manuel (SYF Players) - Manuel is a three star prospect as a 6-foot-8 small forward. He recently said he is hearing from Louisville, Dayton, St. Joe's, and Cincinnati and he has offers from Dayton and St. Bonaventure.
F – Elijah Pittman, Holmes, 6-7, Jr. Elijah Pittman has an arsenal of skills on offense and can alter a contest with his defense. He was the Bulldogs' top producer in points (540), rebounds (248) and blocks (83). Holmes is 70-4 during his two years as a starter. Pittman has 789 career points going into his senior season. He was First-Team All-Kentucky selection. Rivals.com lists Kentucky, Oklahoma, Xavier, and St. Bonaventure as schools of interest.

BJIF:
What part of Florida?
I'm currently in the Orlando area, some good basketball to occur down here with the AAU Nationals to take place in the next few weeks.
One of my players currently plays with Team Stat (Steven Forbes - East Ridge 2010). SBU stopped looking at him when Jake Luhn left. Team Stat is one of the better AAU eams in the country. (Austin Rivers - UF, along with several players from Monteverde Academy)
If any Bona fans are heading down for relaxation and sunshine to Orlando door is open.

Phelps- I am in the Ormond Beach area. I know how fertile Florida basketball is, and have given several names to Dino. Just contact the basketball office directly, and ask to speak with Dino or Coach Massey and they will follow up on the kid you have.

Add this name to the list, Kadeem Green 6'8 combo forward with Canadian roots. Currently prep schooling in North Carolina and primary competition is South Carolina. Very talented, super athletic ,with plenty of offensive game. We need to have the combination of coach Massey work his connections with Ro Russell to get this done. This would be a very high quality get for the Bonnies. First we need to get the visit, and second, close the deal similiar to what was done with Andrew.

- It looks as though Khalil Murphy '09 of APEX Academies (NJ) is headed to prep school. The 6'7 combo forward was at Hoop Group Elite Camp and also has been on the AAU circuit with Sports University (NJ).

Cope- It was made clear to me that Murphy got a very large over inflated opinion of his capabilities. We believe we have done well with Conger. Murphy is a classic kid who has BCS stars in his eyes, while the talent level is good, but several notches below that Big East/BCS level. We have moved on, as this shipped sailed when he ignored us in the early sign on period last October.

Cope- Anali is apparently a carbon copy of the Murphy issue. We were very tight going back to last summer evaluation period with both. Poof, the big boys blew smoke at both these kids, and had them believing they were top 100 talent. Not so with either. This staff is smart, recognizes the starry eyed issue, and moves on instead of waiting. Sad part is that they both may end up in prep school, and if they do make it to a larger program, they will be most likely over recruitied in the following year. So much for recruitment honesty.

Bonnies have offered quality 2G Tre Bowman, 6'3 sharpshooter from St.Thomas Moore in CT. The only problem is that the majority of the Eastern seaboard is after this kid. He is a very smart player and consumate good sized 2G with good stroke.
