Good thoughtful analysis tasty. You make your point very well. Coulibaly and Josh are not at all alike. Coulibaly is much more polished and his experience and talent puts him at a much higher level and I agree Josh just had too much asked of him too soon.Anyone know where he is now and how he did last year?

So what happens with Rumpel now and the 13th slot (which Schmidt has said he doesn't really want to use)? They've already offered him, but I understand that can be withdrawn for now, correct? Or they might be happy if he signs, especially if he agreed to red shirt or accept that he would likely just practice all year. Or Bona takes their chances and figure they are in driver's seat for him signing next year, no rush. Love top get him, though. Your thoughts?

Gregmitch I think all of your results are possible. A couple things to add. -- Need to remember if Brett agrees to a red-shirt, it will still count as the 13th scholarship. -- If Schmidt wants Brett to red-shirt, I can see Brett going to Spire. This is especially true with Brett playing just 8 games, because of COVID. Bonnies were recruiting Dom out of high school, but chose to play at Spire. -- Do not think Schmidt withdrawing offer is a likely option. Have to believe Schmidt already knew or at least had a good idea Anoaur was going to sign with the Bonnies, when he made offer to Brett.
Is this the year Schmidt uses his 13th scholarship. I think it is very likely.

Isn't Rumpel a 2022 recruit? If he commits he wouldn't count until 2022-23.

Major Supreme Court ruling just now with game-changing (if confusing) ramifications coming:
The Supreme Court sided with college athletes on Monday, ruling the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s restrictions on education benefits for players violate the nation’s antitrust laws. The 9-0 decision represents a landmark victory for college players and a significant moment in the history of college athletics, as lawmakers in Congress and statehouses weigh new laws to allow athletes to profit from personal endorsements and sponsorships. “To the extent [the NCAA] means to propose a sort of judicially ordained immunity from the terms of the Sherman Act for its restraints of trade—that we should overlook its restrictions because they happen to fall at the intersection of higher education, sports, and money—we cannot agree,” Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote for the unanimous court. This success or lack thereof will be dictated as always by injuries. While this 2021-22 team looks incredibly talented with the Iron Man 5 plus new additions, I really have to caution folks that injuries can quickly derail a season or at least limit the success. See John Hayes, '69 or Bob Lanier '70 for reference, great athletes, nearly unlimited potential, sidelined at inopportune times by knee problems. Those 1968 and 1970 Bona teams could have reached the ultimate if not for the fickle hand of fate.....but for now rejoice and be happy!!!!!!!!!!

On the flip side, in the 2011/12 season, 2 major injuries to Michael Davenport and Marquise Simmons, both season ending, still did not preclude our ncaa season, but could it have been better, I imagine it would have. Yet, the others stepped up, and depth of that roster was really good.

With current 2022 and 2023 recruiting ongoing, I was bored this morning and watched two You-tube videos of Joryam Saizonou. I was shocked at the things I saw on the videos, and started a profile skill list. If this kid does not get playing time, I will be shocked. After 17 obvious skills I stopped counting. This kid is a major Steal!
* Fingertip Rolls *Floaters *R&L Backboard Lay-ins *Slot Jumpers * Corner Jumpers *Pull-up Jumpers *Dunks with Authority *Fade away Jumpers * Creative Passer *Hustles Constantly *Great court vision and anticipation * First Step Quickness * Plays at and above rim *Ankle breaker crossover * Big Time Motor *Better than Avg.Quickness * Acknowledged Gym Rat
Thanks for putting up with my boredom.

Agreed. Don't think that will be an issue Faffy. No one dimensional kids play much for MS.

Bjif - even further on that thinking, no one-dimensional players are even recruited by MS and staff. They had to see defensive skills and potential just to make an offer. Many coaches talk defense, but I don’t think I have ever seen a coach so dedicated to a defensive minded style of play.
