Aside from whatever is going on with Rumpel, does anyone know if we have any other open offers out there for this year’s incoming class, whether as a freshman, regular transfer or grad transfer?

Translation says Pedro Rossi will be a student of Bona and will play for the team. Will continue his development in basketball in the United States, with the help of St. Bonaventure University. He is playing on Argentine men's team in the U19 World Cup. The wing is averaging 2.8 points, 1.7 rebounds in six World Cup matches. Is Pedro a recruited walk on? Not sure based on videos if he is a scholarship kid. I am definitely a fan of the international roster.

Was he offered, and be a redshirt. We will find out. Patricio Prado is the only player that I remember from Argentina. We had gotten a commitment from another, prior to Patricio, but did not come and turned pro. Trying to remember his name, like leandro Palidino or some name similar.

You are correct, Leandro Palladino was billed as being better than Pepe Sanchez. Would have been a big help for us in the 97-2000ish timeframe.

Is a 6'7" player on Argentina's national team although only U19 likely as good as most of our recruits this year? What a wild card.

Generally, a back-up on Argentina's youth national team would be more exciting than a back-up on the Netherlands' youth national team. Rossi having a prep year in the States without any noted offers is somewhat telling, particularly when he was on a team with multiple D-I guys. He was definitely seen, but does not appear he was offered. His U17 numbers in the 2019 South American championship are better, but don't necessarily lead you to think he is a 6'7 point guard (10.8 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 2.4 apg). - www.fiba.basketball/u17sudamericano/2019/player/Pedro-RossiHere's some youtube highlights listing him as a SG or SF at 6'7 or 6'8 - www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7CwF8VpIoU

If Pedro was seen by major D1 staffs but not offered, he would fit right into our history of grabbing “under the radar” guys specialized in by our staff. Those guys typically arrive with a chip on their shoulder and accompanying work ethic to prove to everyone that they missed out on him while focusing on someone else. If so, and particularly if he arrives as a preferred walk-on he could be another in the staff’s line of steals. I particularly like his experience level with the international ball and hope that he may be another of those guys that in a few years we all wonder how the staff found.

One of my former players coached at DME.
They have had some international talent come through and compete against teams like IMG. He may be a surprise. I know Coach Daniel M. reached out to Coach Schmidt when he was at DME. Might be a Diamond in the rough.
I’ll get more details about him through my contact.
