Still not added to the roster, so I presume the passport or visa issues have not yet been resolved. Has anyone heard an update on his status? He could be a very important and needed front line addition so I will feel better once he is on campus and getting to know his new teammates and Schmidt’s system.

He could be a very important and needed front line addition. Unfurl on Aug. 26 “Bolanga has the * due to the potential he may not qualify and be immediately eligible, unsurprising due to him being a late addition and international pro.” The above is almost 3 weeks ago. I wonder if it was speculation or insider information. It doesn't matter, because it appears pretty accurate. My understanding is it looks good, but it is doubtful it will happen before the season begins. I also hear Bolonga is well worth the wait. It is very reminiscent of Charlon Kloof, who was from Suriname a country from South America. Schmidt thought everything was all set with NCAA Clearinghouse. All of a sudden it looks very doubtful. Schmidt then gives guard Tra'Vaughn White a verbal acceptance. All of a sudden it looks like Kloof is going to be cleared by NCAA Clearinghouse. Schmidt then reneges on his verbal with Tra'Vaughn. twitter.com/SBUnfurled?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author

Thanks for the info Chuck - looks like we’ll need to sweat this one out for awhile but boy I hope he gets on campus as soon as possible so he can get to know his teammates and the system, and also that the word that he’s worth the wait is true. An athletic 6’8” front-liner can make a big difference in the A10.

Is our French pro enrolled and on campus? No sign of him on our roster as of today, what's up with this situation? Took above from another thread. This way we don’t have 2 threads on the same topic. At the end of this thread I responded to this question. Here is an update from my response “my understanding is it looks good, but it is doubtful it will happen before the season begins. I also hear "Bolonga is well worth the wait.” Noah is on campus and has been working out with the team.

For one, I’m very encouraged and relieved he’s on campus, presumably attending classes and working out with the team. But as we approach the start of official practices, does anyone know if he can participate in the practices if he’s not yet on the roster?
Not that it matters, but I still don’t get how a kid with two years as a professional basketball player can play college ball. That is completely contrary to traditional NCAA practice and policy, but then again, so much of traditional practice and policy has been turned upside down, but no longer being an amateur seems so basic it still has me wondering how it’s possible, and what new rule was enacted to allow it. I’m sure the school thoroughly looked into this and cleared it with the necessary authorities given our recent past.

Many athletes in Europe and globally turn pro at 15 or 16 years of age and are allowed to compete in the NCAA or NAIA.

Thanks Bigcat. That reasoning and thinking makes sense, but that’s not something usually associated with how the NCAA makes decisions.

Thanks Bigcat. That reasoning and thinking makes sense, but that’s not something usually associated with how the NCAA makes decisions. Times sure have changed though with the NCAA. You have the University of Texas backup quarterback making 3 times more money than the San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl quarterback But they’ll closely monitor and take their time with a St Bonaventure player’s eligibility…

Follow the money it's the American way!

Yes it’s all bass ackwards. Players now making more money than some coaches in college FB and hoops… just like in the pros!! That didn’t take long.
Frosh QB Jaden Rashada of GA was promised a $13 million NIL deal from FLA last year. The Gators’ collective dropped the ball somehow. QB is suing UF while redshirting at GA.
Top four NIL deals in football are two QBs at Texas, along with Colorado QB Sanders and the Colorado two-way player Hunter. All are between $3mil and $5mil per year.
And a 20-year old kid from France is scrutinized because he probably made 25k in US dollars last season. I can’t find Euro player salaries online but it looks like his total team payroll (Orleans Loiret) is approx $1.5 to $2mil. He was a role player at best.

Woj can dial up the NCAA and go "Yo!..."
