That's right coach but now the 2 million dollar coach has Woj to take some of the heat for him. Yes, can't wait.

Guys - my rant - The basic nature of college sports is changing, accept that unless you find it so unacceptable that you want to give up on the sport. If so, goodbye.
IMO efforts at rolling things back to where you preferred them by whining and complaining on a message board are ridiculous and tiresome. Face it, expecting solid four year commitments from 18-22 year olds Is going to lead to frustration and disappointment. I am willing to put up with that and am happy that we have a coach who hasn’t given up on competing in a changing and challenging landscape and keeps adjusting to do so. For me anyway I choose to stay engaged with the sport and to continue to place too much importance on rooting for success of the Bonnies. For your mental health, I suggest either committing to that or giving up on following the sport. Trying to stay engaged while arguing that things should be changed back to where they were is a waste of time. For those threatening to stop participating on this board, what are you expecting, a chorus of pleas to stay? I think that’ll be more disappointing than expecting the reversal of the rule changes you are looking for. Rant over, block me if you choose - I’ll live.

This message board is pretty bad. The administrator saying bye Felicia.... Sounds like a cardi b and nikki minaj beef. Holy hell. This is all over the enrollment of a foreign player? ? LET'S GO BONA'S..... Can't wait till the team catches a loss by a lesser conference team-shit will really hit the fan. That was a perfectly acceptable response for whining about the mods.

This board should probably be shut down. It truly has become unreadable. No moderators. It was a good run. Just block the frequent offenders. Life will be better if you never read anything Skeller has to say. Their political BS doesn't belong here anyway. Same goes for a few others. Its Skeller6 not Skeller.....get it right before you speak please !

To the topic at hand I can understand the 2 years of eligibility ruling based on what one of our posters shared but it sucks that Bolanga has to sit out a year .
That one doesn’t sit right with me.
Nobody I mean nobody has to sit out anymore

Nobody I mean nobody has to sit out anymore I agree, Nobody sits out anymore. No prop 48. No sitting out for transferring. No reason for him to have to sit out.

Geez, it less than 3 weeks until the season starts and people want the Board shut down after one of the most significant off season ever??? Other than the hiring of a new coach, what could be more significant than the recruiting of virtually a complete new team, a new AD, and a General Manager? And Tom for one I appreciate you holding down the completely thankless and unpaid job of Board Mod for these last several years (BTW, how long has it been now?) and encourage you to ignore the complainers and press on, ignoring the inevitable complaints and demands from the perpetually dissatisfied.

So, Ceharv I recall you saying that you expected the NIL to be a temporary situation. Now you have come full circle and are excited about a new roster and addition of Woj. Anyway, I think people in general are frustrated because they are concerned about the future of the basketball program. I have been saying all along that since the NIL is money driven it puts us at a distinct disadvantage. What I am hoping for is a realignment in college sports. We are not going to compete with the large schools. If the players are going to come and go every year to chase money and better opportunities then college sports is no longer about an education. The Cinderella and David vs Goliath story is being stripped from college sports. I can’t sugar coat what I see and say I am excited.

Joe - I don’t believe I ever said NIL was temporary, although I do believe I have said that like with most big changes, the negative impact will be the greatest right after its start (which is where we are now) but will moderate over time. I think some kids are going to find that transferring to chase every last buck will not produce the satisfaction they hope for and will be more difficult then they expected, and that word will start getting around, and we’ll see a drop off, or leveling out, of NIL’s effect. That’s just the result of 60+ years of sports observations - for example at the start of free agency in professional sports there were similar predictions that Pro sports would be ruined to the point where the big market franchises would dominate and be unbeatable. but the sports have adjusted and survived and have shown they will go on. Another example was that allowing Pro Athletes to compete in the Olympics would ruin them, but it hasn’t IMO. And think Bonas is well positioned to not only survive, but thrive, because of the people we have leading the Program. I am not saying it’s going to be easy, but it can be done. Remember that for decades we have thrived as the little school located in the middle of nowhere that could not possibly recruit quality players to compete because we had leaders who rejected that thinking and in fact turned it around and proved it wrong. Look, I’m accepting we are not going to win a national championship but we can be what we’ve been, the little school in the middle of nowhere that will always compete and knock off a UConn, Syracuse, Virginia , etc., win an occasional A10 championship and get to the Dance every once in a while and compete there, and that’s OK with me. So yeah, I am excited to see what this version of the Bonnies can do and what the next few years brings. I decline to join in the current generally accepted pessimistic thinking, and I think we can occasionally be the David defeating Goliath, and that will be fun just like in the old days. I will still be watching, fully engaged and unable to sjt still starting on November 4th and right through whenever we get knocked out of whatever tourney we’re in, even if that’s only the preliminary round of the A10. And I’ll bet you will as well.

Woj states “Noah is an outstanding young man and player -- and one of the top international newcomers in the at Draft Express on ESPN.” Draft Express has their top 10 international newcomers (9 are from Power 6 conferences). Next they have Noah listed with 13 honorable mention players. Impressive to see Noah belonging with the top 23 international newcomers for this season. Very interesting article. Highly recommend reading it. You get the gist of the article from first paragraph. "While much of the conversation surrounding the growing NIL market focuses on the money the top transfers and high school prospects are receiving, one byproduct of this new era is the proliferation of highly touted international prospects entering college basketball." x.com/wojespn/status/1848401385781424512www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/insider/story/_/id/41857342/ranking-impact-top-mens-ncaa-basketball-international-newcomers-2024-25
