For those who have been asking if Noah Bolanga is on campus, here is your proof.
A 2024-2025 roster photo hit SBUnfurled a few hours ago. Check it out, #23 is Bolanaga.

I saw that, I think it was actually retweeted by Unfurled, it was posted originally by the official twitter of the team. One thing I noticed, Kaba #4, is one of the tallest players on the whole team. He's being described as an athletic shooting wing and he looks 6'10. What a weapon he could be

He is shown in the team photo, but I just checked the team site roster and he is not listed individually as are the other players. Strange. gobonnies.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster

Don’t understand the redshirt at all, but why only 2 years?

I read the phrase “is expected to redshirt” as leaving open the possibility he won’t redshirt and can play. Maybe it is wishful thinking but I think if it was required that he redshirt, they’d just say he going to redshirt per the rules. But if it’s only an expectation, then it’s not an absolute. Too wishful?

Any reporters to tell us what the rule is?

Any reporters to tell us what the rule is? With the “wild west” brought on by the transfer portal and NIL, are there actually any rules the NCAA clearing house abides by? The facade of college basketball being for amateurs is long gone. Still trying to figure out what archaic rule the NCAA is using to prevent Noah from being immediately eligible at Bona and why is he limited to just 2 seasons? We have Noah, who has decided to leave professional basketball to earn a college degree. Isn’t this what we encourage many young basketball players to do. You can count on a college degree much more than a basketball career. Now the NCAA is basically punishing Noah for his decision and forcing him to sit out a year from the game he loves and even worse he will not be allowed to play basketball in his last 2 years of college. Does this make common sense to anyone? It seems NCAA clearing house should be encouraging a young person for making a good decision by wanting to earn a bachelor degree, instead of forcing him to make difficult decisions.

I agree with Ceharv’s comment “maybe it is wishful thinking but I think if it was required that he redshirt, they’d just say he going to redshirt per the rules.” I think it is more of a matter when Noah gets cleared. My understanding was Bona was hoping it would occur prior to conference games. Apparently it is going to be later. How many games does Noah miss, before a redshirt becomes the only sensible option.

Does Noah have any college credits to transfer in to Bona's? Could a Red shirt year of credits get him on pace for a degree since he only has two years of eligibility.

Anyone getting that welder vibe from Bolanga...does he have any college credits? No, not at all, heard it’s got mostly to do with the number of games he has already played as a “pro”.

From NCAA eligibility guidelines…
Foreign players can play NCAA basketball, including professional players.
However, international athletes must meet certain requirements to play in the NCAA, including: - Obtaining a U.S. visa - Complying with U.S. immigration laws and regulations - Working under certain circumstances if they have an F-1 visa
International student-athletes must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center to compete in Division I or II schools. They must also complete the Academic and Amateurism Certification account registration.
